I did see it and already worked out a deal for both wing root fairings. But thanks for checking. I use a Mac iPad and many times I type a response, like the one below, and then hit the reply button thinking all is well, only to come back a day or two later and find my response did not send. Must be a compatibility problem but who knows. But thanks for checking. Gary $250, please call to discuss if you have any questions. Thanks Gary 608 334 0051

Good suggestion

Alan, thanks for the kind words.. It is good to get all the safety measures out there that each of us use to do our best to prevent this from happening, because we all know the risk is there every time we do a transaction. And I did google the Steve guy and there were several hits but none showing red flags. Same with the phone number.. Appreciate your intentions.. just wanted to let this group know “This is out there so we have to stand together to stop it“

Thanks, we did recover our stolen BMW so that’s a start! And we haven’t been shot at for 3 weeks. That’s a good thing! But yikes, what is happening in downtown Madison is out of control! Maybe it’s all the negative energy from there flowing north to our little airpark lol... thanks for the kind words!

Roger that, all good ideas. We have to stick together to stop this nonsense

And that’s the other point, there was just enough about the encounter that was legit, and other parts that were not. It wasn’t a great deal actually, so anyway, like flying - as soon as that first warning sign pops into you and your stomach, turn around and land!
-
Roger to all of that! It a sad state of affairs when these guys start infiltrating our hobby sites like this. Get a f@&king job

I am sure it was the same type of scam. Good save

member harrylyod35 recommended that I contact Steve at stevensattazahn@gmail.com. he was supposedly selling Lycoming 0-360 parts and I sent him $$ for a core prop governor, and now the phone is disconnected and no one is responding. The phone was +1 (541) 238-5105. I can’t believe we have this happening on a Mooney forum!

I was scammed out of $200 by a member’s recommendation to contact a person named Steve who has a Lycoming 0-360 and some engine parts for sale. Look out - I can’t believe someone infiltrated our group. My bad, caught me off guard that some low life would get into our community and learn just enough about Mooney’s and aviation to be believable.. damn more details asked for member harrylyod35 recommended that I contact Steve at stevensattazahn@gmail.com. he was supposedly selling Lycoming 0-360 parts and I sent him $$ for a core prop governor, and now the phone is disconnected and no one is responding. I am trying to clean out my hangar. I have a lot of early M20A, and M20C parts. I also have a complete tail assembly and fuselage tail cone for $1500. Need to pick it up near Madison WI though. Call anytime 608 334 0051

Thanks Cody The engine came from an early M20A Mooney, but I have it on an Acro Sport II now. It has the M20A McCauley prop. I would consider putting an A hub Hartzell compact hub on it HCC2 YK since I only fly the plane 25 hours a year
