  1. Yep, Lampson is pretty busy. I’ve been at a friends house on the ridge overlooking the airport this afternoon, and it’s a hell of a thing to see. He was exceptionally lucky... the fire came right through his property, burning all of his landscaping and the vegetation up the ridge behind his house, but leaving the house itself virtually unscathed. https://photos.app.goo.gl/12NwSDPEmFWcgDfT6
  2. Lampson is no longer under mandatory evacuation, so it's possible LASAR will be back up in action on Monday. The TFR is still over Lampson, and has grown as the fire has expanded. I'm hopeful that they'll adjust the boundaries clear of the airport now that most of the fire activity has moved to the north.
  3. Ouch, new drama was not what you needed when getting back to CMA. Glad to hear it ended safely!
  4. @MrRodgers I drove around the Lampson ramp in front of LASAR on Saturday before I evacuated with my family. At the time I was primarily checking to see if the M20J I'd just purchased was inside their shop. Its annual at LASAR was wrapped up the previous day, and they were holding onto it until the sale closed and I took possession of it. I only recall seeing one Mooney on the ramp, and I don't think it was yours based on the photos you've shared here. Fingers crossed.
  5. A friend of mine lives on Highland Springs Road, right next to Lampson field. He was back at his house this morning retrieving more belongings. As of this morning the fire is for the most part still over the ridge line west of the airport, with some activity close to the intersection of CA175 and Matthews Road (~1/2 mile off the departure end of runway 28). It seems like the recent movement has been sending it more towards the city of Lakeport than further south towards the airport.
  6. My family and I evacuated from Lakeport due to the fires. My two aircraft, including a M20J I just bought (transaction closed on Friday, around the same time the fires started), are at Lampson Field, only a mile or two from the advancing fire. My in-laws and a bunch of my close friends have their homes within a half mile of that airport. Everyone's out and safe for now, but my wife is utterly devastated at the likelihood of losing her childhood home. There's nothing we can do but sit back and wait.
  7. The correct URL for information appears to be https://www.lakecochamber.com/clear-lake-seaplane-splash-in/.
