  1. There might be methods such as using pull up / down resistors to do the trick as well. Not an electronics expert :-) The only output I really want to send the annunciator is that fuel qty is state 1: empty or near empty (LOW) state 2: not empty indicating enough fuel so we can send it HIGH of 5 V The EIS will of course warn me correctly of approaching empty etc so I am not worried. But want to utilize the annunciator panel to the fullest.
  2. In parallel, trying to see if we have the annunciator be fully functional despite the changes to EIS. After reviewing the schematics, looks like only the fuel quantity might need some work. Analog output from fuel senders sends 0.1 to 4.7 V. Maybe the GEA-110 or GI-275 discrete outputs can provide this functionality to indicate low fuel. Color coded the annunciator lines for the schematics if anyone is interested. ElectricalSchematics-AnnunciatorPanel.pdf Update: persisted the example lines from the left fuel qty gauge to transmitter.
  3. Looks nice! What are you putting in the 3.25" slots?
  4. I stand corrected, it’s OI-8. Installation and operation manual. Here’s a screenshot for those interested:
  5. Being OCD about fixing gaps and closing them helps. Along with proper baffle seals to begin with. Take a look at the TCM engine M-0 manual for a description of the flow (I think I remember seeing it there). We are trying to establish the pressure to effectively cause a draft of air across the top of the cylinders and then pushed through the oil cooler and cylinder baffles down to the lower side which is in the lower pressure zone. Anything that detracts from building up that pressure, reduces cooling effectiveness.
  6. Sure - but that might take a while. Plane is in the shop for avionics work, ETA end of Oct/early Nov.
  7. Yeah, in the worst case, I would say an intro interview coding question of moving averages can resolve the issue "through software".
  8. You can call and switch to parts and will likely get Heather. She can find the right parts for you and get it ordered. Online site is not always up to date with latest inventory information.
  9. Yep, I ordered a set a few week ago for my A/C.
  10. +1 to what @Fritz1 said. Also, be sure to check the intake plenum where it passes through the baffle. Different A&Ps try to patch it over time and sometimes the rubber material just gets too old or doesn't seal properly and is another source of bypass.
  11. The Zeftronics folks are pretty nice to talk to. When I ran into alternator trouble back in 2021, they didn't seem to have a product for the 252. But things may have changed now. At the time, I chose to send it to https://www.consolac.com to get it repaired and they did a fine job.
  12. Yeah that sounds like a stop gap solution. @wombat have you tried the Mooney seals?
  13. Thanks folks, looks like this will be a fun exercise. Will report back findings.
  14. Isn't the software supposed to compensate for the fluctuations / pulsing of air to the sensors? Wondering why Garmin doesn't just indicate this in their installation manuals.
  15. @Medicpilot You may want to look through the CFI directory at https://themooneyflyer.com/cfi.html and talk to a few CFI's and build a relationship. They can help you get familiar with the Mooney and also provide recurring instruction as needed. When I picked up my 252 after flying a J for a few years, I went through this page to find a CFI local to where I was going to pick up the plane and did familiarization training for a few days before ferrying the plane back to Washington state and checking off the x-country logistics in it.
  16. Cool! Those are good planes. I fly one around here when my plane is in the shop. But you know - with your PPL, you need to now get on a Mooney!
  17. Congrats @Flyler! Have to ask - what airplane did you get the PPL in?
  18. Yeah I figured it works given there have been no issues with headphones prior to things getting torn apart. But the geek inside me wants to get data to re-assure myself I will ask Matt about the test equipment, he might be interested in it as well.
  19. On the logistics page (https://whova.com/embedded/logistics/moone_202409/?utc_source=ems) it says: > Arrive early on Wednesday and tour the Mooney Factory in Kerrville. Is this true? Hoping they are scheduled for Saturday as is shown on the events page.
  20. Who else manufactures these now? PlanePower is now owned by Hartzell.
  21. I will second this. Had 2 alternator failures on rebuilt units within a span of 6 months - third time went with new. Agree with cost, but peace of mind is priceless.
  22. For those contemplating avionics upgrade but just want that little extra motivation - Garmin has a nice sale going on where you get up to $3,000 back with purchase of new equipment! Note: I am not endorsed by Garmin but I am taking advantage of this so figured I share here. https://www.garmin.com/en-US/aviation/2024midyearsavings/ You can probably throw this one on too: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/promotions/aviation/directto/ Contact your dealer and make sure they chat with Garmin on the exact rules, as with Garmin, everything is quirky.
  23. Thanks Don, appreciate it. But its cheap enough (compared to everything else), where might just get a new one if the need arises. Really want to figure out a way to test it..
  24. Not sure yet who can test the RF filter but part of the investigation led me to a FAA/PMA source for noise filters: https://lonestaraviation.com/product-category/filters/?v=47e5dceea252 Turns out they also sell on Aircraft Spruce and the 100 amp one is now FAA/PMA certified. Any leads on who can test the existing one will be appreciated.
  25. Okay so this makes sense from the waypoint info page. Would be cool if it had a MFD option too for control!
