  1. Well...after 60 years of use, there have been only 5 ADs and only 1 that is assigned against the STCs which is related to old hoses. So I would say it is pretty reliable. If you ask those that use it consider it an additional safety device in a lot of cases.
  2. Hello, I'll pilfer through some of the old data. I haven't found much on the tech pubs stuff to date. There is a summary of performance for all RAJAY'd aircraft on my website. https://rajay.aero/pages/rajay-performance Tom
  3. Hi Everyone, thank you for the comments. For those of you who don't know me, I am the proud new owner of several of the RAJAY STCs. I don't own the airframe STCs for the Mooneys, but I do own the engine STCs... I want to help out and offer new products to the existing RAJAY aircraft owners. If I understand the comments, the answer is yes, RAJAY owners have run into problems in the past when trying to upgrade to new prop designs. The good news is that I own the engine STCs and the prop is specified at the engine level! I *believe* there could be a market for new props that are customized with RAJAY altitudes in mind to get even better performance. RAJAY owners have not been supported with regards to enhancements for a long time and I want to change that.
  4. I'm interested to know if anyone found any new style props for their RAJAY Turbonormalized aircraft. Does the RAJAY STC limit your prop options as an aircraft owner? Any owners find alternatives and can you provide any feedback? Thanks! Tom
  5. Hi everyone and thank you for the questions! I'm still working on understanding all the details. I found an old brochure in my paperwork and posted the performance numbers on the site to answer some of the more straight forward performance questions (https://rajay.aero/pages/rajay-performance). This STC has been in Kelly Aerospace's possession since 1995 and lost during the ownership changes along the way. Kelly Aerospace has been kind enough to sign it over RAJAY as the rightful owners! Kelly Aerospace was very generous in their support. There isn't much modification required to the cowling. I attached a screen shot of the cowling drawing for you to get an idea. I don't believe this increases gross weight any. Remember; this is a turbo-normalized system so the engine is not operating beyond the original limitations. It is only performing at Sea Level at the higher altitudes while respecting the same Manifold Pressure limitations as originally designed. Yes - this is still with a manual waste gate setup. Please be patient while we continue to push forward and establish our company priorities. Please drop us an email to help us understand the demand in the fleet. I imagine it will take several months to determine the price and availability. Respectfully, Tom
  6. Great news to you M20J owners that are interested in or maintaining a RAJAY turbocharged aircraft. The FAA is in the process of reissuing STC SA3555WE back to RAJAY Turbo Products. This means we'll be able to reproduce PMA parts and entertain new kit production if there is enough demand. Send an email to sales@rajay.aero or signup for the newsletter at www.rajay.aero if you are interested in a kit.
  7. It depends...if you already spent 10s of thousands of dollars tricking out your existing plane, would you really want to start over on an unknown airplane just to get turbo? *Some* owners put $75K in glass panels.. what's another $35K to fly at FL200 to FL250?
  8. Just as a FYI...we are doing the cost analysis for the Single Engine Comanche now and looks like it will come in around $35,000 for the kit plus labor.
  9. Hello Gents - yeah, unfortunately, to get a brand new system installed on your plane, it would require a new STC. RAJAY has the engine STC and a lot of information about the airframe STC installation, but as the FAA said, we don't own it so no go there. I would be more than happy to support a new STC but I believe the costs would be somewhere around $100K to $150K which would include the Engineering, Certification, Substantiation, DER approvals, DAR conformities and any flight testing if required.
  10. Hi Guys, unfortunately, RAJAY Turbo Products does not own the Mooney STCs. With that said, we can support you if you decide to put one together on your own using donor parts and common PMA parts from us.
  11. Hi, this is Tom with RAJAY. I can try and help you. What part number are you looking for?
  12. Hi Guys, great discussion on RAJAY turbo. There is also a RAJAY Turbo Facebook Group (RAJAY / RAYJAY Turbo Aircraft) that is airframe agnostic. It seems like all RAJAY installations have a large amount of commonality. Particularly when speaking about operational performance!
  13. Thanks teejayevans.
  14. Anyone know how to get a hold of Coy Jacobs? I would like to speak to him about the RAJAY Turbo STCs that are still in his name.
