  1. 15% off Airshow Special on all inflatable door seals if anyone is considering or needs a new door seal. TALCO acquired Bob Fields Aerocessories a few months ago and has already delivered over 40 orders including seals and spare parts. www.aerocessories.aero
  2. @carusoam, thanks for touching base with me. @MarkM20C - The fuel pressure gauge should also be reading properly at the higher altitudes. There is a boost reference line from the airbox assembly to the fuel pressure gauge. It's not a clear picture but I highlighted in yellow for you. Also keep in mind that the fuel pumps are unique to RAJAY. Most shops don't know what that is. RAJAY offers fuel pump overhauls working in conjunction with Tempest. We also find many times the carburetor is replaced with a non-RAJAY version. This too is unique for RAJAY. If you don't know was done last, you may want to check that out. The carburetor is supposed to be sealed using bushings and gaskets.
  3. Great question and thank you for asking. The manual door seal option which is most popular is a pressure bulb attached to the door panel. We are asking a couple of customers to provide installation photos as they are completed. Below is a photo I found off the internet. Is is a hollow silicone seal that is attached to the door frame with a specific RTV sealant. The only thing missing from the image here is the blood pressure bulb.
  4. Thanks! It's been corrected.
  5. Inflatable Door Seals are now available and PMA'd again. Check out the website at www.aerocessories.aero. PMA'd for M20A through M20K for now. Looking to add the other models later this year.
  6. @amillet we aren't familiar enough to say. There are a few modifications required on the bottom half of the stock cowl in our design data. Not sure how that would work with LoPresti. Do you have any info on the LoPresti cowl?
  7. @amillet, We currently have 1 deposit for the M20J. Tom
  8. Thanks Aaron! We are putting the finishing touches on the certification paperwork to eliminate the hose AD 81-19-04...been over 1.5 years in the making!
  9. Does anyone have a copy of the RAJAY STC SA1411WE? I'm not asking for the data. Just the certificate. The FAA library normally has them there, but they are missing a lot of them. Thanks!
  10. The Bob Fields Aerocessories manual inflatable door seal is $630.00. This includes the parts and STC authorization. The inflatable door seal makes a huge difference in the noise level and air drafts. Since the acquisition of the company, it won't be until late January before orders can be taken and delivered. My inflatable door seal was installed in November 1987 and still working great! I did a video comparing inflated and deflated:
  11. FYI - TALCO Aviation acquired Bob Fields Aerocessories. They make the inflatable door seal. The website has been updated and shows they are in process of relocating the business and re-establishing PMA. TALCO acquired RAJAY Turbo Products last year.Their new web address is aerocessories.aero and all parts/kits will be FAA PMA'd.
  12. You are correct. Wrong choice of word "liability" should be "responsibility."
  13. The FAA doesn't monitor whether the STC holder is and individual/corporation or dead/alive/active/resolved. They turn a blind eye to that because they don't want the STC surrendered back to the FAA with the liability. M20 Turbo STC ownership has a checkered past after Bill passed away and is essentially in no man's land. Anyone can request the FAA to verify if it has been abandoned. It takes about a year for them to do the process. Once it is deemed abandoned, it goes back to the FAA into the black hole never to be seen again. The FAA will only support ongoing airworthiness issues with the STC like ADs.
  14. Hello! No, unfortunately not @John Car I kind of let it rest for a little while...
  15. In accordance with RAJAY Service Letter No. 6, operators of RAJAY Turbocharged Lycoming engines is directed to Lycoming Service Instruction No. 1023B dated January 15, 1965. It is suggested that the recommendations set forth in the above service instructions be applied to Lycoming engines equipped with RAJAY Turbochargers. See attached. RAJAY Service Letter 6.PDF
  16. Thanks for the message. I'll reach out to them and see how they are progressing.
  17. Hi Paul - yes, thanks for the note. SWTA is a great maintenance shop and met JD a few months ago!
  18. Nope. Once the STC has been officially deemed as abandoned, it disappears into the FAA abyss. Orphaned STCs are ones where the owner is not supporting the STC and has not formally surrendered them to the FAA. There is an FAA abandon process, but again, once that is formally deemed as such, they will forever be gone.
  19. Hi Brad - thanks for the message. The challenge is to obtain them before being orphaned/abandoned. Lost data, lack of ownership knowledge and lost historical value is what hurts the most. Yes, Mod Works and Mooney Mart are sad examples of what happens when they are too far gone. RAJAY is still kicking, but the M20A - G, E &F STCs are currently in the orphaned state. RAJAY itself is very much active and supporting the fleet.
  20. The sad reality and position that all airframe manufacturers hold (Mooney, Cessna, Beech and etc) is that every old airplane is a huge liability with very little (if any) benefits. Every old airplane is competition for a new plane.
  21. Hi Everyone, I own an FAA PMA business and looking to expand my offerings by purchasing STCs or small businesses related to general aviation (no FBOs or flight schools please). We want to keep these planes flying and ensure the STCs don't disappear or become abandoned. Please contact me at tlangeland@talco.aero if you or someone you know owns a small business or STCs that would be interested in selling. Feel free to pass this along to others who may also be interested. I would be happy to take a look. Regards, Tom Langeland
  22. Main Turbo is a great company, but they don't work on manual exhaust waste gates.
  23. Hi Guys, Acorn Welding is the RAJAY Authorized Service Center for exhausts and waste gate repairs/overhauls. They have the RJ4010 and RJ4002-41 tooling and drawings provided to them by RAJAY. They also have everything needed to work on the RJ4013. You can get the shipping information from their website at www.acornwelding.com Tom
  24. Anyone have an airplane with the SWTA cowling? Any PIREPS on them?
  25. There is a chance of installing a used kit on your airplane. Send us an email at support@rajay.aero for more information.
