  1. I"m a gp user with a good deal of ff time, I think they feel about the same. originally I stuck with gp due to some equip only working with it but now, it just feels right. I tend to run on a mix of android/apple so there is that plus. If you have an issue and contact support, there is a really good chance they will ping you right back, really surprised me the time or two i've reported something
  2. what happened with this, i could really use a few.
  3. need a replacement brittain servo or new boot. looking online there are a number of servo's offered but they all have different part numbers and i'm not sure which is for Birdy. anyone know the part number, have a good servo or replacment boot ?
  4. having 105 gallons, why not fly asia->europe->usa, no ferry tanks needed. hmm, maps, says that would probably be a few 1000 miles longer. honestly, have fun, i'd really love to do a trip like that
  5. all my cars manuals read something to the affect of change the oil when the light comes on, atleast once per year. camaro, jeep and jaguar, actually the jag says every 12000 miles or something like that. my experience, modern automobile engines are fine at 100k, it's everything else that's starting to wear. suspensions, brakes, etc, interior finishes. Except for oil changes and tire rotations, i haven't had to have a car serviced in the last 20 years. actually that's a lie, lost the ignition coils on an older camaro at something like 125000 miles.
  6. My recommendation, find someone close to you to maintain your bird. yes there are gotchas but really these old birds aren't that difficult to maintain.
  7. close to 2000 on birdy, might have to give her an autopilot for her birthday
  8. Garmin recommended the pack, it wasn't until i got in the plane that I realized safe taxi on the navigator is useless. I already have safe taxi and most everything else gps related on my tablet and phone.
  9. If i had the money i'd take a shot at converting one of the new turbo diesels for experimental use. chevy lz0 inline 6, bit heavy but power band is exactly at current engine / prop numbers, no psru necc. well you'd probably need some sort of unit to handle prop alignement and maybe heavy bearings to take prop loads.
  10. there should be a class on database subscriptions. I recently paid $$ for a sub to find out the recommended safe taxi and something else add on are completely useless on a gnc355
  11. nitrous injector would be nice also, little bit of help when i take my flatland plane out to mountain territory
  12. hmm, looking at the video think they could make it simpler, no need for a computer just calibrated temp / pressure switch should work. be nice if i could just cheap vodka for the fluid, instead of messing with methanol
  13. on the hottest days 110 degs my engine doesn't go above 380, so if i could limit myself to say 2700rpm 25/26 inches approx 170-180hp which is about what a m20c makes, yeah i'd be fine. i take off in 1500ft instead of 1000, i can make that trade if i don't have other options. once i get above a few thousand feet it becomes a non issue anyway. I have no problem with adi, as long as it doesn't cost me a fortune to install and i'm not using gallons of fluid every flight. If it's as miserly as the def usage in my diesel, heck yeah.
  14. where do they have testing 100R or Lydon won't work
