  1. I learned to fly 45 years ago at KTRK, not far from South Lake Tahoe, in fact that's where we went to get out introduction to a control tower. Remember, the engine is Turbocharged, not the propeller or the wings. The engine will perform like it is at sea level, however the prop and wings are acutely aware of their elevation. ;-)
  2. As I recall back in the 80's the legal begals got a hold of the aviation industry. They figured that product liability was a field worth pursuing. Thats when aircraft prices spiked, along with tort lawsuits, etc, etc. The problem is that the USA, especially here on the Left Coast, the gen pop has become so litigious. Why the lawyers can barely keep the lights on!!!
  3. And one of the best Web Cams for an airport anywhere https://truckeetahoeairport.com/webcam
  4. I got my pilots license at Truckee in 1980. Regardless of routes, the most important factor is to travel in the AM, the earlier, the better. Truckee has an awesome airport !! Now even a CT and atis !!
  5. I wouldn't be surprised. We sprayed quite a bit of that back in the 80's, only to find out later that it and imron should be used with a full body protection.
  6. Also, rust can progress underneath powder coat, as opposed to paint, it shows through.
  7. I had the same situation last Dec (24') had to have them IRAN - 3 hrs labor plus fees @Precise Flight
  8. I'm going to have to put in a call to Elon !!! Ha !

  11. Its a new prototype, 3 blade for takeoff and climb, 2 blades for HS cruise. ;-)
