  1. The best value can often be found in an aircraft where someone else has already done all the upgrading. Avionics depreciate rapidly so letting someone else do a lot of the upgrades makes good financial sense and some real values can be found if you wait and shop for the right aircraft. My panel and auto pilot was professionally installed by Aerotronics of Billings Montana at a cost of approximately three times the aircrafts value. But when it came time to sell it, I was able to buy it for only marginally over the typical hull value.
  2. SA-WEET paint scheme! Retro and clean looking! Very cool!
  3. I just attended Don Maxwell's Mooney maintenance training in Texas and we covered this topic. He showed us how if the joints aren't lubed, the tubes will become dented from not being able to move. He recommends a lubricating/penetrating oil called "Mouse Milk" on the joints.
  4. Thats NOT happening on my Mooney. :-)
  5. I'm very interested in hearing your honest opinion on this entire process DXB. The windscreen upgrade has been on my list. From an aesthetics point, its just looks better but I've always struggled with the cost of this. All quotes I've received have been around 70 hours at $95.00 per hour shop rate plus the kit making it close to 10K. Please give us all a synopsis when you're done with it. I'm interested to learn if you find it quieter and if you pick up a few knots.
  6. Longest cross country. Arlington WA to Winfield Ks. Flew her home after purchasing her.
  7. Here's my 65 E. Check out the production flight test date Skmoore63. Seven days prior to yours and by the same test pilot.
  8. Mooney M20E on takeoff and wing wave from the Kansas prairie near Wichita Kansas
  9. Congratulations! I have a 65 E as well. Serial Number 647. You'll LOVE it!
