  1. It's tough doing a price promotion on a brand new product especially with it being a full system since we can't use the existing King servos. The current promotion, before the STC is issued, is an extra year of warranty. There are upgrade paths for those who do have an S-TEC system that brings the starting price down under $10k.
  2. Yup, I am at Genesys Aerosystem/S-TEC now. Sooooo spend the money on getting a new S-TEC 3100 Seriously though, you really have a plenty of options. Upgrading to the IFD540 might be a better move. It works with everything in your current panel and gives you the biggest bang for the buck since you don't have to change much (if any really) going from an existing 530W.
  3. Yes, there are plans for VNAV. We are investigating the capability in the different GPS navigators out there. It's one thing to display the VNAV data on a navigator (like the IFD) but it's another to actually output it in a format that we can use and that's what we are researching. We've approached both Garmin and Avidyne on this matter. Right, in that context the VNAV in our marketing material and POH refers to GPS based instrument approaches.
  4. Just to confirm, the STC will cover the M20B through M20S and the M20TN.
  5. 1. The 3100 can take course and heading bugs from the G5 HSI GAD29B. Altitude, VS and IAS bugs will have to be set on the 3100 itself. 2. Certification should be completed by the middle of next year (2019) (of course this is just an estimate). As for the servo warranty, if one places a PO before the STC is issued, they will receive an additional year on existing components (bringing the total to 2 years).
  6. From our tech support team: "Anytime an AP flies an offset, it is either a faulty input signal (DG) or competing signals (DG / GPSS / VAV) vs. Turn Coordinator. If the offset was in all modes, I would suspect a TC “roll centering” procedure is needed. In the situation described, the DG input would be highly suspect. That said, the DG feeds the ST-901 GPSS converter. Before sending the DG out for overhaul, the DG output to the converter should be checked."   7. The latest update I have is that we are about 7 POs short of the goal.
  8. The 3100 does not need a turn coordinator, it gets roll information from either an internal AHRS or through a PFD (like Aspen or Garmin). It can be flown in roll mode (not NAV or HDG) but if the autopilot is on, the servos are on. Yes, the 3100 works with Garmin PFDs.
  9. No. I don't think the G500 has the ability to set modes on any autopilot.
  10. No, an annunciator will not be needed, the autopilot should be in the field of view. Modes will not display on the G500. We can accept the baro correction coming from the G500.
  11. Not yet. We are working on the TXi interface at the moment and expect it to be the same as the G500/600 interface, but we won’t know for sure until we can test it. I will pass along any information once we test it. The G500/600 interface allows cross communication of ALT and VS bugs and will also display flight director. The modes will not be annunciated on the G500/600, these will be displayed on the 3100 bezel.
  12. The issue is that we don't know if the G1000 communicates to autopilots the same way the G500/600 (one interface that is already supported) does. Without testing the interface, we can't know for certain. It's something that we are investigating at the moment and more information should follow soon.

  14. Thanks! Currently, modes are not displayed on the Aspen PFD. VS and ALT bugs on the EFD1000 do not transfer to the 3100. Altitude preselect and VS control are available through 3100 bezel inputs. Aspen is working on a software update to enable those, as well as a few more features. Our understanding is that the software update will be out this summer, I'd advise you contact Aspen for a more specific date.
  15. If the comparison was apples to apples, you should be using the GFC600 ($19,995) as the starting point. Even with that said, the GFC600 does not include everything needed for installation, whereas the $9,995 (55X upgrade to 3100) and the $19,995 (new installation) pricing includes all the components that the dealer needs.
