  1. So a 6 hour flight from Canada (CYFB) to E Cost of Greenland (KUS), quick fuel stop then a 3 hour flight to Iceland Reykjavik (BIRK). Not bad for a days flying. Don
  2. Gunter and Tina are on th last few legs before getting home: https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/N228RM/history/20250804/1100Z/CYFB/BGKK They've posted lots of pictures and a route map on facebook. I had the pleasure of meeting them in Bellingham (KBLI) and taking them for lunch in Friday Harbor. Aerodon
  3. When I see the shop putting my cowl on the floor, I ask them to go get me some fine sandpaper so I can do the same to the hood of their cars.... Ask for a screwdriver and tell them you are going to key their car just the same, but don't worry you have some sort of matching paint and will fix it just fine.... The local BMW dealer did the damage shown below to my wife's car - about the size of a quarter on the front hood. They fessed up, booked it into a reputable repair shop and fixed it, no questions asked, and apologized each time. I don't think the whole hood was painted, but I can't see the repair. Don
  4. I won't name the brand, but I remember having an interference issue in the gear well or gear doors with new tires on an M20K. I changed brands for a more rounded cross section tire and it was fine. If you PM me, I'll go look what I installed in the end. Aerodon
  5. So on a later model M20K without dual brakes: 1) the attachments for the brake master cylinders are in place. 2) change the pedals and arms with a set that has brake pedals 3) install the crossover pipes and T into the existing system 4) bleed the brakes 5) sign the logbook. Some other models - there is a check valve between the LHS and RHS, i am not familiar. M20C, not so sure either. Aerodon
  6. Normally I would post this under items for sale. I have a few EDM700's from trade-ins getting old on my shelf. I usually send anything 'crappy' back to JPI for repair or trade in on EDM830's. I have a very nice EDM700 with fuel flow and a couple of nice EDM800's with nice crisp displays (they go a little fuzzy when they are getting ready to fail). The EDM800 looks like an EDM 700 with an extra data field above the bars that will show RPM, MP and percentage power. This is nice, especially with a turbocharged engine where you want to monitor things more closely. The instrument itself is a straight swap, there is one more harness for RPM MP.. Or 2 more harnesses if you are upgrading an EDM700 without FF. New transducers are little expensive at about $300 each, but used ones do come up quite regularly. I'm open to trades, but only if your display is excellent. Send me a PM to start a discussion, Aerodon
  7. I have another system for sale, MFG 04/2022 with about 50 hours. Mostly new probes and harnesses on this one, warranty on all the used transducers. $1999 for 4 cylinder, $2299 for 6 cylinder. Harness and probes for a 4 or 6 cylinder aircraft. 4/6 CHT/EGT, OAT, Oil T, MP, RPM & FF transducers. P1,2,3,4 harnesses. Oil P extra Carb Temp Extra OAT has 20' wire so you can install on the wing outboard of the fuel tanks like Mooney did. Aerodon
  8. Just saying, if you really want to sell something like this, post a picture or description of the tray and backplate. And put a price. Aerodon
  9. While an Apollo SL40 Com looks the same as an SL30 Navcom, it was possible to slide an SL40 into a SL30 tray, but not vice versa. If a GNC215 will fit into a GTR205 tray, then it's possible to do a Com now and trade up to a GNC215 later. Anyone seen both side by side, or have the install manuals? Aerodon
  10. How about a picture of your panel? This one brick at a time does not work really well with avionics upgrades, and I do not like the idea of all your Nav capability in the GNS430. An SL30 with MD200 is probably the most cost effective, and it has the sought after serial output for future electronic display (although a GI-275 will take an extra analog anyway). Same could be achieved with a GNC215. My decision making would be influenced by vertical height available in the panel, what fits now and in the future. Aerodon
  11. What else have you got in the stack?
  12. Sorry sold. Updated.
  13. No, from what I can see a probe and sensor kit adds about $1-2k? From what I am seeing, a 275 EIS costs somewhere between an EDM900 and 930. Aerodon
  14. I have a new GI-275 Engine Indicating System that would be nice for a Mooney. Included is the basic system and a 4 or 6 cylinder EGT/CHT harness. I can help with compatible probes and making up additional wiring harnesses. The Garmin STC allows a variety of compatible probes, so if you already have a JPI with fuel flow, there are some savings to be had. Aerodon
  15. Beard, UAT solutions (GDL82 etc.) do not work well in Canada. 1090Mhz systems do - good flight tracking etc. GTX335 / 345 etc. Post a picture of your panel - my recommendation would be look at what is already installed and space available. You need a WAAS GPS position for an ADSB transponder. Or a Txpdr with a GPS, that leads to another GPS antenna and the costs associated with it. A GTX345 can get altitude form numerous sources, easiest is to install a GAE12, even if it is a second encoder. You might need to keep your encoder for a KFC150 autopilot? Aerodon
  16. Jackson Jet center is nice, but ask them where to go park and do it yourself if you don't like being towed. Aerodon
  17. macfarlane have some neat bolts for attaching wire pulls. Aerodon
  18. Looking at my numbers (and the chart that I drew), the first 'turning point' is at about 10G, this is when the feel fills the wedge at the bottom. The second is at about 25G, this is when the inboard rib is filled to the top. There is a bit of a turning point at 42G, I'm not sure why. On a standard tank, the wedge at the top is never really filled because of the filler neck. But with the Monroy tank, it is filled to the top at the old filler location and near the top at the new location. I will go measure how far away the float is from th outboard side later today. Aerodon
  19. It's not that the Monroy 'side' is empty, it's that the overall level of all tanks is starting to drop below the highest physical level the float in the tank can go. The tank has two floats, one on inboard side that will measure down the bottom, the one on the outboard side measure up to the top. Now Monroe moves the tank further outboard and the float cannot reach the top.
  20. Pinecone, Somewhere someone posted his accurate filling details. I plotted the results and as expected found that it is definitely non linear - from empty until the bottom is filled, then until the inside rib is filled, then to the top. I worked out some really good quantities to enter into my JPI for maximum accuracy. The idea is to choose calibration points with good linearity between them. IIRC, the JPI allows 5 calibration points, so I have chosen 0,10,25,42.5,52.5 for mine. Have not done it yet. Aerodon
  21. I'm not using this anymore, but it is still quite a useful device. I have a 'bare wire' cable to wire into your airplane power, or I might be able to find the cigar lighter power cable. No battery. Access Weather, Traffic, GPS and Attitude Information Receives subscription-free weather Advanced ADS-B "dual-link" traffic with TargetTrend™ and TerminalTraffic™ technology GDL 39 3D adds attitude information for SVX™ on Garmin Pilot™, aera 660 or 796/795 Wireless Bluetooth® connectivity with the Garmin Pilot, ForeFlight Mobile and FltPlan Go apps, aera 660 or 796/795 Built-in WAAS GPS receiver
  22. I have a couple of extra kits (new), also a 1/2A CB if you need one. Aerodon
  23. Here, I have one for you, wired up and ready to install. Aerodon supercub180@gmail.com
  24. I just did this 172 with a belt sander / rotary disk sander. there were some residual lines on the inside that I could use as a 'final' target, but just sand / check / sand until you are done. I also managed to use the front drum of the sanding belt to grind away the perimeter of the hobbs rectangle. The round holes were good from the factory. Aerodon
  25. I have several, including one with the wiring harness still attached for a quick replacement. Aerodon
