  1. Almost like in New Orleans
  2. yeah, what we are going to do is put 50$/h for the engine and major repairs, we calculate this will give us almost 200% of engine overhaul costs, so should be more than enough. As per other expenses, it will go split in half, but we need to keep track of who pays what and if money is owned to a partner, hence the spreadsheet... thanks to Steve who sent me a copy, I will take a look at them...
  3. Ceci dépend de votre clavier je crois...
  4. Hi, I'm trying to create a spreadsheet to capture and keep all expenses paid by each partner and do our accounting at the end of each month, and I was wondering is someone already has something like that. Thanks !!!
  5. Avec Plaisir, je dois faire 10h solo, alors pourquoi pas, peut-être même ce fin de semaine !!! As for the insurance brooker, is it possible to get their contact information, maybe I can get a better deal for next year. Thanks !
  6. Was this part of the STC done by Rocket Engenieering, since they changes the cowling with the new engine. Maybe they will have the spare part, if you find out, let us know, as a fellow Rocket owner, it's good to share info !!!
  7. I would love to go to a Mooney PPP in the near future, but hopefully something a bit more in the north-east region, I checked their schedule and I think it will more likely be next year for me
  8. Yves, is that Marsh from COPA ?
  9. Thanks Paul, The first few lights, I was bringing the gear up without pressing the button and doing so well below the 107 kias gear retraction max speed, but the horn would continue and gear unsafe light would be on and it would seem that only a gear cycle(lever dow and up again) would do the trick. obviously that is a bit unusual and unnerving, so I asked the previous owner who is my partner on the plane now, he told me that he usually presses and holds the bypass red button while bringing up the gear, that seems to work, the gear goes up and gear unsafe light is the turned off as is gear down off as well indicating gear is fully and safely up, the alarm rings all the way trough this process, and stops as speed is gained. I guess I didn't make a fuss out of it, but it is really annoying and requires more attention and handling than just a simple gear up action should require at a critical time that I much rather have my attention on the takeoff and climb than holding the bypass button for 15 seconds while flying the plane in a steep angle as to not surpass 1077 kias... Anyway... Any thoughts would be great !!!
  10. I pay 4600$ for 150K full hull coverage, I had about 140h when I bought it, insurance required 15h duo which I finished today, and then 10h solo before insuring passengers, this trough Charette Assurances wit Allianz, since COPA didn't even want to quote..
  11. Well I always start by retracting the gear when I have a positive climb and have cleared the runway, so maybe at about 80 to 85 kias, and then I retract the flaps, then reduce power to 30 over 23, during all this time, the alarm is going, then I lower the nose to get over 105 kias and have the alarm stop. Once it stops, it dosn't start again even if I climb on a high rate and speed goes under 100 kias... So wondering...
  12. Well, it's a 1979 M20K Rocket, the previous owner who is now my partner says that you just have to hold the button until it stops, but I have tested it and it is really related to the speed, I can keep climing at 90 KIAS all the way to several thousand feets and the alarm continues. However, if I bring the nose down a bit after taking off, as soon as I pass the 100 kias it stops ( or near 105 kias ). It is ok for me, but a bit annoying, since I have to cut my climb short, gain speed and then continue the climb if I want to have peace in my ears... I guess at the next annual, I will have them look at it !
  13. Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone else finds the Gear safety bypass alarm a bit annoying on the takeoff ( but for sure usefull for safety for landing ). I have tried and it seems that if I'm doing under 105 kias after takeoff when I retract the wheels, this alarm will ring, even if I press on the red bypass button beside gear and keep pressing it. It will only stop after I have gained speed over 105 kias. Is this normal and works as designed ???
  14. Son, if you want to fly it, you got to wash it !!!
  15. Well I am mad now, the mechanic that went to change my tires said he found the brakes were almost to the metal and the bearing not greased. It seemed that the shop my partner used to import the plane did not do a good job. I purchased the plane conditional to a successful import, since several mechanics told me that the import process is like an annual, but much more involved and that if the import is done properly, then the plane should be A1, I guess it was not necessarily done A1. Anyway, that was my afternoon of talking to mechanics...
  16. Yep, one of my early mentor's in my IT career said to me, the day you stop learning is the day you start dying... We all have different experiences, lives and it is the melting pot that makes us all a bit better...
  17. I did'nt take your comments personally and hopefully David did'nt either. Every pilot makes mistakes from time to time and we are not perfect, if we landed and did everything perfectly all the time, we would be more like robots, what's the pleasure in that ?
  18. I agree, even my ATP instructor with 4000 hours, and the other owners at 10K hours ATP, they told me they have done the same on the Rocket, it's just a bit heavier and harder that the other mooneys...
  19. I have noticed that, it is a bit too easy to lock the wheels, much easier than the previous planes I have flown...
  20. Well, I was just asking why we are not raising the flaps, I'm actually following the POH and NOT raising the flaps before exiting the active runway.
  21. yep, I only noticed it once pushing the plane into the hanger, it is still inflated, but obviously needs to change it before I can fly it again Thanks for the words of encouragment, I have done about 30 landings with the mooney, so i think it is more than just this one last landing.. My home field runway is just under 3000 feets, so sometimes if I'm not on the speed, I need to brake a bit harder...
  22. Well, I guess it shows that I have only 150h of C172 and Beech Sundowner before juming into a Rocket. Here is my today's handy work, I have now about 14 h on the Mooney, ouch, it will cost me :(
  23. Jeff I have already all this info, but I want to check the stations that do not seem to appear in the Rocket STC, so I took them from the original POH. I imagine that if they are no where in the STC, then it means the original POH version is still good... What did you put for the stations ( front Seats, Rear Seats, fuel Tanks and baggage Aera ) in your foreflight !!! Thanks !
