Awful_Charlie Posted July 15, 2013 Report Posted July 15, 2013 Sorry Erik - the SVS is not suitable for turbo'd aircraft. You'll need to look at the standby electrical system eg http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/inpages/aerosafeguardian.php 1
aviatoreb Posted July 28, 2013 Report Posted July 28, 2013 Sorry Erik - the SVS is not suitable for turbo'd aircraft. You'll need to look at the standby electrical system eg http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/inpages/aerosafeguardian.php Hi Awful.. :-) I love calling you that because its so funny you call yourself awful. When I asked...my backup vac had just gone inop. :-( Luckily it was the day before I was on my way to the shop for something else. I was sort of bumbed for my backup vac to go inop since I had just premptively replaced it when I purchased the plane 2.5 years ago as one of those items I really wanted in tip top shape. And I hardly put too many hours on it as I only turn it on when entering IMC. WHich is not a huge amount of hours by any means. So I presumed it was inop and I would need to buy a new one.... Well, the shop found the fuse blown and further more they diagnosed that the fuse jacket was under rated for that fuse - so they declared most likely it was simply a mis-fitted fuse jacket! $.50 cents of parts and $85/hr x 0.75 hrs later that instrument is back in business! Sooooo.....I don't need that thing anyway. :-)
