TheLazyC Posted August 21, 2012 Report Posted August 21, 2012 My ANN PNL circuit breaker keeps tripping so I pulled it out and left it. Almost finished annual and want to get plane back in the air. Any ideas on the tripping breaker? I wanted to do a little troubleshooting before going down to the shop. Quote
1964-M20E Posted August 21, 2012 Report Posted August 21, 2012 I'd start with the schematic of the plane and see what is attached to that breaker. Then I'd look at each individual item and if it can be turned off I'd turn it off and try to isolate the short that way. Then trace its power lead back to the breaker. It moste lkiely is one of two things a wire has chafed and groudned or some equipment has failed. I know this is a very broad statment but that is the best way to start. As far as I know there is nothing that prevent you form identifying the problem and then have the mechanic fix it. Quote
mooney2201 Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 there are 2 ic,s in this unit, they are used for calibration, and timing,so fuel lights dont flicker, when the fuel gets moving around.low fuel warning light, this unit is very easy to repair,if it is the only thing on the breaker.......anyone with electronics experiance can trouble shoot this unit,,very easy but old technolgy,i have had mine repaired and was so simple..i feel you have a blown diode on the power side of the unit.transistor would not blow a breaker, only turn on a annunciator light.call a mooney repair center they will give you the number of the company that repairs these units, they charge only 200.00,,hope this helps you....
