cliffy Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 Looking into new tablet for my wife's AVARE (she loves the program) and specifically looking at NITS for illumination The best I'm seeing are around 1,000 nits Avare has their own at 2600 nits. Ipad shows no nit figure (not android anyway) Anyone seeing currently offered tablets with high nits?
toto Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 This seems kind of expensive, but I looked around a bit and apparently this is the brightest-screen Android tablet available.. https://a.co/d/6iEe0wl Tripltek 8” Pro
McMooney Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 Samsung Galaxy tab, if you can find one in an acceptable size. GORGEOUS screen, was always bright enough for the cockpit. well better than the ipad at the time. I had an s8+ till someone decided to walk away with it
EricJ Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 I've been using Samsung Galaxys for many years. I've probably had six or eight by now. They are an excellent choice, imho, and there are a variety of models to pick from. I've had a number of the smaller ones as well as the larger and never had any notable trouble, mostly Es and As. I've run Avare on all of them since that used to be my go-to EFB and now it have it installed for backup. (Not Avarex, btw, just the plain Avare, although I suspect Avarex wouldn't be any trouble, either.)
midlifeflyer Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 In the Android world, unless a critical app developer has a specific recommendation, I'd agree with those who say, stick with Samsung.
