Ppizzo Posted January 25, 2023 Report Posted January 25, 2023 1979 M231K, When the latch over the “T” Handel for the manual gear extension is unlatched, the gear actuator breaker may trip when you put the gear switch in the up position upon takeoff.
Pinecone Posted January 25, 2023 Report Posted January 25, 2023 Yes, this is why checking the emergency gear is down and latched is at least twice in the checklists before take off.
PT20J Posted January 25, 2023 Report Posted January 25, 2023 That’s because that latch handle engages the emergency gear extension drive and jams the motor. If the handle is only partially raised and the motor can turn it can chew up the brass clutch in the gear actuator. 1
