corn_flake
Does any one have a picture of what the cowl flaps suppose to look like when closed for M20E? The factory service manual says it should measure 1.65" on the trailing edge when open (1969). It says nothing about if it should be fully close shut when in retracted position. carusoam
In the old days… they were closed completely… (crummy for cooling on hot days in cruise) In the new days…. They were fixed… at a certain set point… Having them stay in position during the flight is often a challenge… Where to find the official set point for the closed flaps of an M20C… based on decades of experience… Its around here somewhere… Wait a few minutes… there is an MSer around here with the answer… Best regards, -a-
Prior owner
I have always assumed that fully closed was when the cowl flap edge matched up with the engine cowl edge (same height, streamlined).
