Wow!

So I know someone who set the long distance hot air balloon record once upon a time. He carried extra propane tanks mounted to the gondola. Found they were out of reach when he got in the air. Had to do exactly that over one of the Great Lakes, to get the new tank hooked up.

Obviously staged, but just tying what appears to be a couple overhand knots of rope to his belt?? As if that would actually hold? And even if it did he could still fall out of reach of the plane. Pretty crazy stunt. A future Darwin Award recipient?

Nothing new about it.  Back in the day mechanics would fix engines in flight.  This tool is just busy showing off.  Wonder how long before he becomes a statistic.
