I was lucky to be able to remove my vacuum system and replace with an electric step servo.  Here's my fully working vacuum servo for sale.  Asking $300 shipped wherever priority mail goes.

Cheers,

brian

I used to own a 1966 M20C with the retractable step. But the problem I found with it is trying to quickly board and unboard passengers with the engine running. When the step is retracted it makes difficult for short passengers. To insure the step is extended with the engine off lubricate it with a silicon base lubricant. All other low wing planes (including Mooneys after 1978) have fix steps.
