  1. The map that you show is that of Quebec, Canada I was mostly referring to the US. But when I am VHF (aeronautical) out of coverage I resort to HF on my trusty Icom 706. KP4DAC
  2. Hi Yves next time try your cell from the air at 1,000 feet. KP4DAC
  3. $20K that's more than my home central air conditioner. With Coke and ice I am pretty refresh in the summer. My pilot relief ventury and cup holders are no brainer.
  4. Same story here but I switched to the internet with my cell phone. No noise no QRM and works everywhere. No towers needed. KP4DAC
  5. Nice article but for the price I think I will stay low.
  6. Does anyone here has experience using oxygen concentrators as supplemental oxygen for inflight use?
  7. Beautiful airplane but no pilot relief venturi neither long range tanks neither HF radio that I have on my M20J for ocean crossing.
  8. You can mount the antenna underneath the glare shield, supported by a home made bracket. Mine can receive satellite signals even inside the hangar with the hangar doors open
  9. My M20J average cruise speed heading to KAGC.
  10. I think an HSI or CDI are better options for course guidance, specially for IFR precision approaches.
  11. This device can make all your landings greasy. I have terrain warning on my GNS530W that shows terrain threat in red, yellow and black. Very useful to me on departure at night from Quito Ecuador. It shows you the mountain passages.
  12. Or add these to your shoes, FAA approved.
  13. But, but no relief funnel aahh. Just im agine 4 guys and a six pack of Coca-Cola on ice on a 4 hour trip.
  14. For less than a $1 you can glue or ty wrap a pair of 2x4 pieces of wood to the pedal and have pedal extension.
  15. First mankind heavier than air flight (1903) had a human onboard. First mankind flight on a no atmosphere environment (the moon 1969) with two humans onboard. A name is associated with these events (Orville Wright and Neil Armstrong).
  16. This oil stain appears to be from a leak above that drips down after engine shutdown. Check the push rods shroud tubing O-rings. Jose
  17. But, but no pilot relief tube? Messy plane with four cup holders holding 4 Diet Coke cans.
  18. "To have TKS installed on a Mooney today (February 2021) it costs $72,000. Think (I don't know) about how much it must cost to put it on a caravan." Before you go TKS try this: Lighter and cheaper than TKS Just spray it on the leading edge before flight. $12.62 on Amazon.com Click image to open expanded view VIDEO
  19. High-altitude balloons are crewed or uncrewed balloons, usually filled with helium or hydrogen, that are released into the stratosphere, generally attaining between 18 and 37 km (11 and 23 mi; 59,000 and 121,000 ft) above sea level. In 2002, a balloon named BU60-1 reached a record altitude of 53.0 km (32.9 mi; 173,900 ft).[1] And the above is on Earth. Best helicopter helicopter will do 30,000 ft. High altitude balloons are commonly used for weather observation.
  20. I am thinking of a small balloon folded to a smaller size than the helicopter filled by small H2 tank with remote controlled valve. A balloon weight is definitely less than the helicopter.
  21. I think a hydrogen balloon would have been more efficient than the helicopter, and it can stay aloft for much longer time.
  22. As an example, U.S. FAR Part 23 requires that the stall speed of a single-engine airplane in landing configuration not exceed 61 knots. This stall speed requirement drives the maximum wing loading the airplane can have. The options are: reduce the empty weight of the airframe or increase the wingspan, like on the Piper Malibu.
