EricJ Posted January 27, 2019 Report Posted January 27, 2019 When my EDM-900 was installed the line to the manifold pressure transducer was installed as shown, with the two adel clamps holding it up and covered in fire sleeve. Since installation last summer the fire sleeve around the clamps has turned black at a spot that I wouldn't expect to be particularly hot. I'm wondering whether something about the way it's clamped has caused this. Any ideas on what may have caused it or whether anything should be changed? Quote

Something in the Axel clamp leaches out and affects whatever it’s clamped to. I’ve seen painted steel mounts go the same way. Clarence Edited January 27, 2019 by M20Doc Quote

carusoam Posted January 27, 2019 Report Posted January 27, 2019 Typical pigment used for plastics and rubber... finely ground Carbon... aka Carbon black. Seeing those pics I was nervous because they look like they have been broiled... Glad Clarence has the experience and shares the knowledge! Best regards, -a- 1 Quote
