Man,

Those are beautiful photos!  No Mooney's flying overhead but THAT looks like paradise!...except for the "Big Hole"Laughing  thanks for taking me away from my sadness over another Roger F loss in finals at the French...Did you fly your bird there?

We have visited Stella Maris in our E.  Great place for a family vacation.  Beach at nearby Cape Santa Maria fantastic.  Lodging at Cape Santa Maria Beach Club also looks worth consideration.  The rest of the island is interesting to visit also, not at all tourist.  I think a day with a car was part of our package.  Lots of Europeans and good food if you stay near the Stella Maris lodge.  At that time you could rent a house or stay in some hotel type rooms adjacent to main lodge.  We stayed in the rooms and met interesting families from around the world.

We flew our Mooney Down to Stella Maris from Sant Augustine over Memorial Day weekend.  It was great!  Stay 3 night get a fourth night free and $300 private pilot discounts on top of that when you fly yourself there.  You cant beat it.  We utilize the turbo and fly high so your never really outside of gliding range from land for most of the trip.  We rented a car one day and explored the entire island to include getting to Deans Blue Hole.  A must if you visit long island.  Next time they run the private pilot deal i suspect we will head down there again!

Small world.  I just got back yesterday from a week cruising the Exumas, but we only made it down as far as Staniel Cay.  Yesterday we chartered a Cherokee 6 from there back up to Nassau (see pic), and then flew back to Florida commercially.  It is an absolutely beautiful place, with world-class snorkeling that we took full advantage of.  The whole time I was there I was wishing that I had the plane.  Without the borders and the bureaucracies that go with them, it would be an easy 675 nm nonstop flight from my home base.  Perhaps one of these days I'll go to the trouble of jumping through the hoops that I would take to fly there privately.  Thanks also for your pictures.  I enjoyed them very much.

Currently myself and two others. I have room for one more person...maybe two at the most.  In talking with my insurance agent any more then 4 or 5 pilots on the policy and it starts to look like a flying club which this is NOT and which makes the insurance premiums go way up.

This is one of my dream trips to make. Glad you got back safe, Nick. Has anyone taken dogs to the islands? We take our dogs with us when we travel, and I'd like to know how Customs reacted.
