rogerl Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 Last time I changed out my GE4522/14v 250W landing light I used the 'Galaxy' (not GE) bulbs from Spruce - for one thing, certainly DO NOT recommend those galaxy bulbs. Both that I bought had the entire filament assembly laying on the bottom of the bulb in very short order - not sure if it was a bad manufacturing run or what, but this time I bought GE bulbs. Now I see that the genuine GE 4522 bulbs seem to be orientation-designed, but with no documentation and haven't found any by searching the web. And of course since it was some time ago that I replaced with the Galaxy bulbs, I don't recall what the proper orientation is. I'm guessing that it's the little metal half circle that goes up, but if anyone who knows or could give a quick peek at their installed 4522 and post the config I would greatly appreciate it! In the photo you can also see a glass 'tab', the location of which corresponds with the 'top' of the metal half circle, which is pointed to by the red arrow. Might be that there is a slot in the mount where that goes, but would like to cover bases before I go out to install it tomorrow. Thanks for any help - Quote

MooneyMitch Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Nope, I agree with you about the Galaxy. I got one and it lasted with one throw of the landing light switch. Quote
