MyNameIsNobody Posted October 27, 2017 Report Posted October 27, 2017 As I approach (VFR pilot) another subscription renewal on Pilot AP I realized that my good old soldier (696 in Air Gizmo panel dock with ships power (attached by power cord and exterior GPS antenna) hasn’t had any updates forages of either software or map/terrain/traffic/safe taxi etc....So I removed and bought a SD card for software update. Had not been updated since 2012...Then I bought a year up updates for software. That is where it got weird. My work laptop won’t let you download software and my old desk tops don’t have an SD card reader...So bought that for 12 bucks. Then my computer would not load the user I’d/pass word to fly Garmin...so on with tech support from anti-virus and found I needed to download google Chrome. That worked I’m in...and then I couldn’t get USB SD card reader to be recognized...called Garmin...then I unplugged for a third time and it worked...Then downloading on battery and hoping it lasts....it did! Success! A trip to airport to reinstall for partner that is flying for flight review. 1 Quote

I was way behind in software and the purchase of current mapping etc. was overdue. Looking forward to flying behind it with the updates. 1 Quote
