StevenL757 Posted October 11, 2016 Report Posted October 11, 2016 That's the trend I've seen - in having to replace two of them so far, and both failed within less than 100 hours of each other. If ERFlyer needs a replacement, the part can be ordered through Peerless Electronics (in Bethpage, just a few miles from where I live actually). It's manufactured by Kissling, and the part number is a 26.57.01 (300A, 24-V switching relay). They've come down in price...from about $458 six months ago to $379 presently. Battery was fine as was panel switch...the relay is a German manufactured unit and according to Maxwell ,it has a pretty high 1000 hr failure rate. ERFlyer Posted November 7, 2016 Author Report Posted November 7, 2016 Follow up on my original post, thanks to everyone for the input! The batteries were Concorde's. The solenoid tested ok, the battery held a charge of 26 volts even after being off the battery minder for several days. If I then turned on the battery one switch, voltage at the battery dropped to around 4V and nothing came on in the cockpit. Turn batt 1 switch off, voltage back to 26. Changed out the battery and all is fixed, so must have been a bad cell within the battery. Can't complain too much since looking at the logs, the batteries were put in in 2009, unfortunately for me, I just bought the plane in August! Anyway, thanks to all for the advice, at least I learned a little more about the plane and the electrics! 1 Quote
