I used to ski jump (did 70 meter, quit when they were pushing me to do 90 meter).  Does that count?

Ski jumping .... scary.  My boys grew up xc ski racing, and sometimes the local races would bring us to lake placid - well the ski jump federation tries to recruit hard amongst the xc skiing kids - for jumping and nordic combined too.  Wow....looking up at those tall ski jumps they have there at Lake Placid - forget about it - not my babies!

Flying the pattern is fun at Lake Placid since you make the down wind to base turn right over the ski jumps and they are surprisingly close to pattern altitude.

Too funny.  My boys wouldn't consider ski jumping because it was "too dangerous". Instead they took up snow boarding and required more trips to the hospital than I ever made.

Knock on wood - but so far no trips to the hospital with my boys having gone through as XC ski racers.  Although once you get pretty good, the speeds can get pretty high on narrow trails between trees in the woods, and almost mtn bike ride speeds.  Also sometimes the down hills on narrow trails can be scary - at least to me - I have done some citizen races and while I do ok because I am pretty ok going up hills, I feel like a yutz snow plowing down some of the hills in the middle of a race and getting passed by all the grandmas who aren't afraid to point their skis straight and zig zag around me on those steep narrow wooded trails.

Snow boards - I have no idea how to use one.
