NotarPilot Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 I'm selling my used Whelen Parmetheus PAR 46 LED landing light which I purchased in Nov 2012. It has about 250 hours of use and still works great. Only reason I'm selling it is because I bought the newer, 40% brighter version at Airventure this year. The light will be available after Oct 21st which is when it's coming out and being replaced when I do my annual. The light was $247 new. This is less than half what I paid. The newest incarnation of the When PAR 46 LED is $267. I put these lights side by side and the difference seems negligible but I'm a sucker for bright lights. First $120 + shipping gets it. Pictures to follow if it's not sold by Oct 21st. Quote
Hank Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 This is a great deal! I bought a Parmetheus last year when my aging GE finally crapped out (fine at preflight, dead when I needed it to land 3 hours later . . . Typical!). The last year and a half, my landing light has only been turned off twice, at annual and during my recent pitot static / transponder check, when it was in for about an hour before he turned it off. Had no trouble starting the engine the next day. I've checked visibility at night, and can generally read the numbers NLT halfway down final, I think the GPS was showing 0.67 nm when the numbers were bright and clear. Quote
