I'm guessing that colder temps might be a problem, but the lowest temp aloft I've ever encountered really isn't much different than the occasional -25 F my car suffered through in New England years ago. So what do you think? Is there something else I should be concerned with?

You shouldn't mix greases. If you want to use that grease you should compleatly disassemble the landing gear and clean out the old grease. Why would you want to do it anyway? The specified greases are tested and approved for the application. They are readily available and you won't have to explane anything to anybody. I haven't had any issues with Aeroshell 6 or 7. Do you have some problem you are trying to cure.

It might be stretching it a bit for a Mooney but an MD-80 crashed a few years ago all because they used the wrong grease on the tail trim jack screw. In some cases it does make a difference what grease is used.
