rockydoc Posted October 23, 2014 Author Report Posted October 23, 2014 those SPA 400s are known to have issues. we have replaced tons of them here at the shop and we had about 20 laying in a cabinet that were all broken. Interesting Bill, Mine seems to work, but the volume is VERY low. Any ideas? Rocky
Bill Dunn Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 The other manager Chris said he agrees that it is probably you intercom. I would suggest a ps engineering audio panel. They are the best and they aren't to expensive. Are you located anywhere near us?

They are the best and they aren't to expensive. Are you located anywhere near us? I am in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. If its the intercom, why would we replace the audio panel? I only have a 1" tray. My existing audio panel was installed new only 4 months ago. R

Bill Dunn Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 Yeah I would say you need to go to an integrated audio panel. It will be the same size. Look up a PMA 6000 audio panel and have your local shop put it in.

The first airplane's I replaced for a PS intercom and was neither more nor less happy. My current I'm keeping, paired with a bulletproof Bendix audio panel like yours. As a proud member of the cheap ba$tard club, why not just take Marauder up on his offer, or send yours in to Sigtronics for a fairly inexpensive overhaul? At least then you would have an idea if the intercom is the problem and wouldn't be out $2000 for equipment you may not need. Just my (cheap-a$$) .02...

I was hoping to get it sent on Friday or Saturday but got caught with a broken water pipe. Who would have thought a pinhole sized leak in a pipe could put out THAT much water!
