Joe Zuffoletto Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 I went by Arapahoe Aero today and they were wrapping up the modifications required by SB M20-318 on an Acclaim Type S (not mine). I got a few photos for y'all to check out. This view is from the rear of the fuselage, showing the bulkhead and attach points on either side to which the empennage is attached. On this plane, as with mine, the two pieces that make up the left attach point were up to spec, but the two on the right were too thin and have been replaced: This photo shows the new parts next to one of the old ones that was replaced. You can see that the older part is noticeably thinner: Finally, this image shows the fuselage skins that had to be removed but have already been reinstalled on the aircraft: It's a substantial repair and I'm glad we don't have to pay for it. I think Mooney avoided some seriously negative PR by picking up the tab... very smart at a time when they're trying to get production rolling again. 1 Quote
Txbyker Posted September 5, 2014 Report Posted September 5, 2014 Joe, thanks for the pictures. Sorry you are having to go through this. I was reading the SB and If I interpret it correctly there is a strange spread of affected planes. A "C", an "E, one Bravo, then a 2005 O2 then skips over me to a batch of later O's then a whole bunch of Acclaims. Strange how those parts were distributed. Russ Edit sorry... Just read about ... http://mooneyspace.com/topic/12749-new-ads-came-out-guys/ 1 Quote
