I think i have a KA 42, let me check the part number

checked and it is a KA42 071-1006-11

the KA-44 goes with KR-87

the KA-42 goes with the KR-85 and 86

i believe you could modify to be able to use but really not worth it

You can not modify , A KA44 and KA44B have a preamp built into the antenna , the KA42 does not..... I have both KA44 , and KA44B antennas for sale......Regards....
