Ok, here's the deal. My manifold pressure transducer is sick and Mooney does not have one. To add insult to injury they can't get one for 6 months. For a used transducer that works I will pay $1000.00. I know that sounds crazy but the new part will cost $1800. I have the Moritz instrumentation and the Ovations/Eagles between 1999 and 2003/4 used this transducer. If any of you know where there is an Ovation or an Eagle that is being parted out I would appreciate the direction. FYI, the Part No. is SP100-110-25a. It was made by Patriot Systems which has since been acquired by Ametek. Ametek will not work on the part and was totally unhelpful -- they clearly said that they are not interested in supporting Patriot parts and they do not have parts for the unit. I have called Wentworth and LASAR and they didn't have one. So, who wants to make my day?

My last two flights have seen some irregularities on my fuel pressure read out. The problem occurs during climb out after I have switched off the electric boost pump and no where else during the flight (I.e. I Can't recreate the issue on the ground during normal run up). Here is what happens: -Fuel pressure slowly drops once the electric pump is turned off (from 22psi all the way down to the bottom of the Green Arc ~15psi) -Once the electric pump is turned back on the pressure comes back up to about 24psi -I tried switching tanks and no luck, the issue is persistent on both sides. -Once I reach cruise altitude and pull the prop back/lean the fuel, the fuel pressure remains steady (22psi) without the electric pump on and I have no further issues My assumption is that the mechanical fuel pump is going out and can't handle the pressure requirements when I am at full throttle and prop but I would like to see what the Mooney verse had to say about this. Manifold Pressure line.....weep hole
steve@innoviator.com posted a topic in Modern Mooney Discussion
Does anyone have an explanation for a MAP line weep hole? Typically weep holes are near the bottom of lines, not the top. -
I am chasing an autopilot issue. The autopilot is a Stec55x. It flies, in VS mode, and approaches with no issues. Altitude hold however, and you get a heck of a porpoise. I am wondering if my elevator yoke pressure is to high. Mine tested today (fish scale) to 28 lbs. to get deflection. Has or could anyone else measure there's? We have exhausted about everything else, from presure transducer to start voltage in the servo. It does with the trim motor on or off. Unit mounted very stable, and seats firmly. Tried different sources of static air. Validate 12vdc stability out of the unit. Down to yoke pressure...
