  1. I am on the fence... Oscar
  2. Really nice!! What camera did you use?
  3. I installed knots2u inflatable door seals about 6 years ago. The difference is amazing. Installation is easy and durable. I had no issues since I installed the system. About 3 years ago I upgraded it to an electrical pump. So far so good no issues whatsoever. It is nice to be able to activare the seal and forget Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  4. I know i don’t know why that happens!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  5. One question: how do you vent the hot air into the empenage? I had an earlier unit and it worked great on the ground but i wasn’t able to use it in the air because i wasn’t able to vent the hot air. Also the earlier unit was very heavy. Is this unit lighter? 6. How can you adjust the throttle position at which the alarm goes of.
  7. I have the same prop on my M20E and I fully agree with you PIREP. Overtime the rubber on the leading edge deteriorates but otherwise the prop ages well.
  8. it goes up from 27 cold to 29 amp hot. But With the electronic mags my cranking has improved significantly.
  9. I love my Earthx battery. I modified my M20C and installed a IO-360 per LASAR´s STC. Among other things it moved by battery back. I ran the W&B and my CG was WAY back. So the EarthX battery helped me increase my useful load and by CG. The battery works great, it cranks much better than my old Concord. Now, with regard to the 15Amp... My plane is now full electric. Glass cockpit and electronic mags. Obvioulsy, this is a concern as the power consumption is way up (lets also not forget the electrical gear that needs to be lowered...). I also had one electrical power outage (the grounding cable of the alternator went lose). So how to solve this issue if to the equation you add my long x-countries... without any close by airports? I went the route of a back up alternator. I believe from a risk perspective this is the most effective solution. You have two alternators and if everything fails an EarthX battery that should get you to where you need to go... And I also have a smaller battery for the ignition (but the weight is neglible). So, if you ask me EarthX worked well for my mission. Oscar
  10. yes. I did it and it helped
  11. Happy to share once I have the logbooks back
  12. Because I went full electrial (electronic magnetos and instruments) I never felt confortable not having a second alternator in my M20C (E). So I came through B&C back up alternators. They had been approved for PA32 and for Bonanzas. https://bandc.com/product-category/alternators/certified-alternators/standby-alternators/ I decided to look at the unit and with my IA and AP we did the installation and got the field approval for the system. The unit work flawlessly and it lowers my anxiety... the stand by battery never provided me with the necessary state of mind. Oscar

  18. I fly regularly my M20 now E into a 3500 feet long grass runway. It works well. I am normally off about 1200 feet into the take off run. However, there are several factors worth considering that have led to some interesting expiriences: a) is the grass wet or not... last week I landed and the grass was wet and muddy... so on take the mud slowed my run and b) you always need to use softfield procedures... specially in a mooney with a small prop clearance, c) keep in mind density altitude... Oscar
  19. Yes! I agree. This is becoming very annoying.
