  1. Quote: carusoam Ray, I like your CAD program. I think mine is the same one... ELT and Carbonmonoxide sensor? -a-
  2. It was awhile ago that I talked price with them for the altitude hold but I want to say it was in the neighborhood of 2500 give or take a few. Someone was saying the EDM-900 might not fit there???
  3. Oh on a side note.....I talked to the folks up at Brittain Flight Control Systems and they said they are getting close to being able to start making new stuff again....so that is good news if you are looking for the altitude hold function they have. Right now I am on the list and have been for about a year now.....
  4. Scott, when you say the yoke angle and clearance issues I am guessing you are talking behind the panel?? Good to know about the integrity of panel with respect to the 696.
  5. I was told by Top Gun Aviation that the panel in the Mooney is not structural and they did it to their F model. I guess that would be something to find out before starting such the project. http://www.topgunaviation.net/topgunaviation/id18.html
  6. I have some of the equipment....I like the new Avidyne but that would break the budget.
  7. I currently have the KT76C that is why I was going with it......I'll have to check into possibly selling the 76C and getting a 330.
  8. Hey I am looking at potentially redoing my panel and here is what I have come up with so far. Is there anything else I should be thinking about? Maybe something I am missing?
  9. The one I have with the GX 50 just shows course....no glideslope.
  10. So this one will work?? http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/avpages/kingKX155_indicator3.php
  11. Yea I am trying to keep costs down and the GI-106A is pretty $$$. I am not sure what KI I have currently installed but it is hooked up to my Nav/Com radio
  12. If I were to have the KI 209A would I need to get an annunciator panel? My current set up is with a Apollo GX-50 and I have a annunciator panel that has two buttons....one for Nav/GPS and the other for GPS SEQ.
  13. That is awesome....Probably much cheaper than buying a authentic Mooney part.....good find!!
  14. Hey guys quick question for you.....does the Garmin 430 have to have the GI-106A CDI? Or can it use others?
  15. Well I have that currently in the EDM 700....looks like I need a EDM 711 for direct replacement...I will give a call to JPI tomorrow and see what options I have.
  16. Well its listed in the manual. Required for flight: Cyl Head Temp Gauge but the Mooney EGT gauge is not listed. So that would be one gauge I would not need to replace. So here is a question for you guys......what temperature does this gauge read seeing as how there are 4?
  17. I am looking at the individual E.I. gauges and all of them are direct replacements except fuel quantity unless you go with the glass panel display. I just don't want to put in a single channel EGT and CYL Temp guage if I dont have to. Saves space and money and to be honest is not needed (unless required by regulation) with having the JPI 700.
  18. From what I can find from the Type Certificate Data Sheet I dont see anything that references those gauges.....which is good for me potentially. http://67m20e.com/Mooney%20TCDS%202A3%20Rev%2052%20dtd%209DEC10.pdf
  19. So potentially I would not need to replicate the one channel EGT and CHT guages? Would this change for IFR flight?
  20. If you could come up with a 201 cowl for a older Mooney.....like say an "F".... I would be all over it especially if it were STC'd. Hell even if you could come up with a carbon fiber cowl that incorporates the cowl enclosure from say Lasar for the older Mooneys I would be interested in that as well.
  21. Hey guys I was wondering what engine instruments are required for flight? In my Mooney I have the strip guage that has Fuel Qty L&R, CYL TEMP, OIL PRESS, OIL TEMP, AMPS. I also have a Mooney EGT guage. My question is this....I am looking at E.I. Engine guages to replace the current ones and was wondering if it is Required to have the CYL TEMP and Mooney EGT guage. I have a JPI EDM 700 that does this. What temp is the CYL TEMP and EGT guage reading?? On the JPI it reads each CYL tem and each EGT.
  22. That is awesome....I am really happy for you. I believe this will make you a more precise and overall a much safer pilot. Good job and enjoy. As with all things don't be too eager to go out and fly in 200 and 1/2 just yet....and practice to keep your skills sharp.
  23. So it sounds like you had exactly what I had happen to me. I had a skytec starter....old like 7 or 8 years old and it would do the same thing. I would push the button in and I would hear the click of the starter solinoid and I would hear the shower of sparks but the starter would not turn. At first after a few tries it would eventually turn over but it was sluggish at best. Long story short....starter was shot and I needed a new one. Luckilly Skytec will rebuild yours for a fixed price....they ended up swapping out mine for what looked like a brand new one. Works really good now so I would highly recommend them. The bad news....removing the starter is a total PITA. You have to remove the entire cowl, which requires removal of the induction boot. I did most of the work myself under the supervision of my A&P which saved me some coin. Good luck....and if you have any questions feel free to PM me.

  25. Hey guys, does anyone know of where to find one of these glareshields? Also what do you think the cost would be? Thanks Ray
