I used to practice this in a PC 12. 800 feet was the altitude needed to successfully complete. Practiced in the sim multiple times prior to field. Actually worked well with room to spare. However, as stated above many variables to take into consideration.

Oxygen is a dry gas. If you are using aviation oxygen there should not be any water involved. That is one of the reasons that during long transports or continuous use of oxygen they incorporate water downstream to moisturize it. It is also one of the reasons for the tank checks every five years. It checks for rust and moisture in the tank. As you’re coming down from altitude the heat inversion should melt any ice that is in the system.

This is the latest and greatest from Duncan. Looks like it is held up at Bendix. Hi Scooter Yeah, this is hard to stomach and I am sad for Mooney operators.... I wish we could get some traction with upper management at the OEM to get this pushed forward...but this is where we are at the moment... The original STC drawings and installation instructions have been revised by Duncan Aviation Engineering, which was sent off to Bendix King in June of 2025. BK Engineering has been evaluating the revised Duncan information (for several months now), and once that evaluation is completed, BK Engineering will ask the BK ODA to approve this additional data "as approved supplemental data to use with the original STC". We are hoping to have the BK ODA approve on this revised data the end of Quarter 4 of 2025, but additional parts have to be designed, manufactured and added to the original STC kits (which won't happen until approximately the end of Quarter 1 of 2026). Thanks

I work on an ambulance and use a SPO2 monitor on all patients. I have and should notice a difference between the patients. A couple of readings I got were machine driven in that one minute it will read in the 80’s and the next it will read mid 90’s. Another factor that I have found is placement of the finger probe. Different finger’s different readings. In other words the finger is a reference.

Agree with what’s right for one may not be right for another. During chamber rides you would notice some people effected faster then others and displayed different symptoms.

Unfortunate incident with the AOPA sweepstakes Husky

I just hate to see another perfectly good flying aircraft damaged -
Came with everything you need to get you going for two people.

I just got mine like donkaye recently from Jon at pure medical. He was at Sun and fun with a package deal for the rove 6. He maybe at Osh with the same deal. Give him a call.
-
Again I would recommend American Aircraft Engines. They rebuild all the engines for the civil air patrol. They also rebuilt mine. Great to work with and fairly quick turnaround time. They do have a website located in Ok.

Just talked to Jon as mentioned by @201Mooniac. Jon was very helpful. Talked about going to Osh and Sun n fun. Offered the discounted price that was offered during Osh. It seems that the Inogen is selling well at the shows. New version is the Rove 6. Well needless to say I am a little lighter in the wallet now. Ships tomorrow and should arrive by Thursday. Jon was a pleasure to work with.

Has anybody ever put together a list of all the sources for parts both new and used with phone numbers and points of contact? As I have read throughout Mooney space I pick up a name and number here, a different vendor or a different supplier. I would think it might be a good idea to compile a listing were we could go shopping for the parts needed to keep our babies flying in top shape

Did the military physiology during my time and covered a lot of the aspects of high altitude flying. Great course if you ever get the chance. Even went up to 45000 with rapid decompression. That was back in the old days. They only take you up to 25000 nowadays. I currently work on an ambulance and have seen the effects of low oxygen saturation. The Inogen works and will bring the O2 levels up to a satisfactory level that will keep you aware and alive.

I achieved my pilot’s license in ……. at Melbourne. It had FIT on the field and training was in Cherokee 140. At that time in History it was an aviation friendly location. Places change with time so I don’t know how it is now.

Okay guys and gals. How did you get an Inogen? I have been trying for years to score one of those but keep running into the same problem. Called the company and they say you need a doctors script. Go to my family doctor and he says that I don’t have breathing issues so he won’t write a script. Called AOPA and they told me to get a bottle. Told them I didn’t want a bottle. So what’s the secret? Thanks Scooter

Had to take Canada Air in the early 80’s and even in economy they gave you a menu with a choice for meals. -
Yes this is for the pre J models. I have a M20C and that unit was being produced in Arkansas. They sold out to Duncan and name was changed to Aerocruz. I agree it doesn’t have electric trim but that would be just one more thing to break and repair. Right now my hands work well for trimming the aircraft

Yes. One and the same. I just keep calling it a Trutrak before they sold out

Hey everybody, Just posted this in avionics but thought I would post it here as well. Latest update from Duncan. Thought I would share. We have made progress, Duncan engineering has finished the revised drawings and revised installation instructions. Now Bendix King's ODA will need to approve this data as supplemental instructions for the STC We are hoping for BK ODA approval around the end of 3rd quarter of 2025 (estimated). Thanks

I did read somewhere or was told by a IA that the lines going to the oil cooler does matter. Reverse your lines and see if that helps. Some thing about air bubbles and air bubbles rising.

Just read an M20TN down in Sparta Tenn with three fatalities. Three people traveling in a small plane died on Saturday after crashing about one mile south of a rural airport in Sparta, Tennessee. RIP

Yes American Aircraft Engines. Just before I was walking out they were installing a dyno for engine run up and testing instead of just putting it on the stand. Their time if I recall was like 2 months but I told them to take their time because I had other things going on. As far as cylinder options you would have to talk to them. I got the mellinium.

Has anyone installed these Snap-Vents
Scooter replied to Matthew P's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
Had those in a 210 in Texas. Only air we got. They work great. No speed restriction as far as I know. Up at altitude and during the winter would shut them down. Only drawback was cutting the windows. Have to be very careful not to crack the window. -
Just had my O360 overhauled at American Aircraft in Tulsa. $31 out the door. They do all the rebuilds on the Civil Air Patrol. Great people to work with.
