  1. There are a couple Mooneys for rent in Wichita, I believe.
  2. Perhaps you could have said that then, instead of trying to drag a company with whom you have not dealt and of whom you know nothing into the fray. Just my opinion.
  3. When I sold my airplane I would have gladly flown it to an MSC or shop of the buyers choosing so that they could have been comfortable with the purchase. Eventually, the buyer of my plane brought his own mechanic to my field and spent a day+ with the plane. They found it to be exactly as advertised and paid my asking price. Everyone left the deal happy. Bottom line is that if a plane is honestly represented and priced appropriately, a thorough pre-buy benefits both parties. A seller shouldn't be leery of that. If the plane has been gone over by two mechanics who found nothing then the seller should feel confident that a third will also find nothing and they have no worries. its a buyers market. I'd stay away from sellers who don't realize that.
  4. My old C was also a 150kt airplane, but I think the avionics may have been too much for your tastes (Aspen/430/etc). It also sold for less than 55, to my dismay.
  5. I've got a 2 year old riding mower that has a bad spindle on one of the blades, and we are moving this fall anyway and don't need it. It is a Troy Bilt Bronco, with a 20HPmotor that's been serviced and runs great. It has a variable speed transmission - meaning it drives like an automatic car; the more you press the gas, the faster it goes. As such it occurred to me that if you drop the deck this could make a great aircraft tug, if someone in Wichita is interested please let me know and I'll make you a great deal!
  6. Congrats, we did engagement pics with my Mooney....
  7. My point is that when you depart, there's a time when you need to climb to be in glide range of anything. And at Mackinac you'll be over trees and then water while you are climbing. It's not forgiving terrain for a plane you are unsure of...
  8. Not at Mackinac; you're basically over water or pretty dense forest as soon as you're not over the runway. Water would be my choice, unless you could wait till winter and have ice to land on.
  9. Why are you talking about yourself in the third person?
  10. Yes, which is what I mentioned in the second post on this thread.
  11. Really? It's essentially the same thing as adjusting the altimeter.
  12. Why were you lectured? I believe its a completely legal adjustment for a pilot to make. Does someone have evidence to the contrary?
  13. There's a screw on the bottom left side of the ASI that you can turn to adjust it. I'm almost certain the owner/pilot can make the adjustment. Otherwise, adjust for the discrepancy in flight.
  14. I'm just going to leave this here, so that when Scott's alter-ego comes back we can remind him that he left. Then we can demand formal explanations for his dishonesty!
  15. No, there's no such thing as a moderate, remember?
  16. I guess you're right. It's the same shit with different tint in the same way Catholicism, Islam, and Wicca are.
  17. Please educate yourself about the differences between atheist, agnostic, and anti-theist. Thanks.
  18. So my kid can't bring peanuts to school because someone might be allergic, but your kids can bring measles to school because you're an effing idiot? Makes total sense.
  19. They also exist because it's cheaper to pay five NPs with one Preceptor who shows up once a month than a hospital/clinic full of Doctors. You pay the same but get "lesser" service; fun thing is you don't even know it and it probably doesn't matter because you don't need an MD/Ph.D to prescribe a Z-pack for your cold.
  20. Aaah, the infamous N of 1 example! That'll work!
  21. If you disagree, wouldn't it be prudent to state why you do? Just because you think someone has an agenda does not absolve you from showing a logical reason why you disagree. Do you have another number other than $240? What is it and how did you come to it?
  22. Yes. back to cars. Are you in the market? Going to consider a Hellcat?
  23. Ok. So let's say you got away lucky and there isn't a joint involved. It's a clean break in the forearm. What do you expect the x-ray, (technical and professional) will cost? Let's forget about the cast and follow up, just the imaging....
  24. Scott... what do you think a broken arm costs? What do you think an MRI runs? CT? How about the technical and professional component of an X-Ray? Can you afford it? Sure, as long as it doesn't happen too often; but what if it's the cashier we were discussing earlier? She' making what? 20k a year if she's lucky? How is she going to find the cash to pay for that broken arm?
