  1. Righto Gary, Spring of 2014. If I edit it now the link will be bad. Good eye.
  2. Hey Eldon, I don't think you did send us the photos. Maybe put on a card for OSH? The last information I have on Bill Wheat is from Chad Nelson, a VP at Mooney. He said that Bill is no longer working at Dugosh after his stroke. I believe that is his doing okay, but knowing Bill he would say "terrible!".
  3. You crack me up! We are showing more of a trailer at OSH, but not much more. And for those who attended MAPA last year, they got to see 18 minutes! HA.
  4. In the fall of 2011 Mitch had the idea to interview the workers at the Mooney Airplane Company to document their stories for generations to come. Boots on the Ground: the Men and Women Who Made Mooney is the result. The DVD will be premiered at the Mooney Aircraft Pilots Association- MAPA Homecoming April 10-12, 2014 at Kerrville Texas, Home of Mooney. Through the generosity of the executives at Mooney, we were able to have unparalleled access to the Mooney factory including the highly secret Skunk Works [Mooney R&D, testing grounds]. Through the generosity of spirit of the factory workers, we have amassed 15 hours of video. The Mooney Ambassadors are pleased to present a little taste of the fun we had filming and learning from the men and women who made Mooney. In the final product we will have interviews with folks who worked 20-50+ years at Mooney, plus a bonus DVD with extended interviews with Bill Wheat [engineer, test pilot] and Mike Miles [test pilot], among others. http://youtu.be/y6s_ZvnHYdo Thank you for watching. For more information about the Mooney Ambassadors, please visit our website: www.MooneyAmbassadors.com Our three part mission is to Support Mooney Airplane Company, to Promote General Aviation, and to have Someplace Wonderful to Fly. © Mooney Ambassadors 2012-2015 No part of this video may be distributed or copied without express written consent of the Mooney Ambassadors.
  5. He has about 30 hours in the airplane. He is adorable. He sat up front for about ten minutes on Sunday, then decided he liked the back seat better. I am choosing to believe it isn't my piloting skills that made him run! He is full grown at 28 pounds so is perfect Mooney-size.
  6. Hello all I have been packaging up t-shirts and sweatshirts this week, so I thought I would get the word out that if you would like a MA T or sweatshirt, let me know. I have sizes small though XXL in both. T-shirts $20 Sweatshirts $40 includes shipping Here is a photo of Mooney "helping" me package the other day. I prefer a check, although I had one Mooney pilot tell me he hadn't written a check in years! Paypal is my second favorite: JolieLucas@charter.net Let me know what you would like, and I will get it packaged and to you! Thanks for your support
  7. I do! I have sizes small through XXL. I will bring to the Mooney Forums as well.
  8. I think I have two copies to loan if anyone is interested! Great read
  9. July 29, July 31, KOSH, Oshkosh, WI. Mooney Forums at Oshkosh [AirVenture] Mooney Ambassador and all around great guy Dave Marten has scheduled two Mooney forums at OSH 2013. Monday the 29th at 10:30 and Wednesday the 31st at 2:30. The Mooney Ambassadors will be there to talk about what we do to promote general aviation and inspire the love of flight. Come and enjoy the presentations on all things Mooney!
  10. If you would like to see a bunch of Mooneys, come to Lake in the Sky airshow at South Lake Tahoe KTVL. We have between 20-40 any given year. Michael Golden who owns Mountain West Aviation has an E model, as do I. Here is the info from the Mooney Ambassador website: August 24-26th, 2012 KTVL South Lake Tahoe, Lake in the Sky Airshow Join us at Lake Tahoe in 2013 for the 24th year celebration of America's High Altitude Air Show. The Mooney Ambassadors are the only type club that has specifically been invited by the event administration for the past several years. We had 22 airplanes in 2009, 14 in 2010, 24 in 2011 18 in 2012. how many are coming in 2013? Friday night dinner is a salute to Veterans who have served or are serving our country. Saturday is the big day, and we expect upwards of 11,000 visitors. There is an opportunity for six Mooney Ambassadors to take place in the air show by doing high-speed passes. We typically get a nice hotel rate and car rental rate for this event. Point Persons: Michael Golden and Jolie Lucas.

  12. Another thing to consider, which we found out during the Jerry Manthey seminar is whether the paint shops are sealing the plane with tape on the seams. This is very time intensive, but removes concerns of stripper making its way into your wing, etc. Apparently most shops do not seal the seams. Artcraft does. And I don't have any financial or fiduciary relationship with them. Mitch's Ovation painted in 2009, my E model in 2011. It seems like a reasonable thing to ask if they protect your airplane by sealing the seams. Most shops are using less toxic strippers, but that doesn't mean they wont get into your seams.
  13. Let's all come welcome Jack home from his round-the-world trip in a Mooney! Date and time to be confirmed on Saturday. I believe he is in Arlington, WA on Friday night, so that shouldn't be a problem in the Ovation2 ! http://www.solo2013.com/#

I am going to be there on Saturday [weather dependent for Jack] to help celebrate!
  15. Columbia Airport's Father's day Fly-In was cut short a day due to FAA budget cuts. Mitch suggested we do a fly-by to fill in some of the gaps. The crowd really enjoyed the formation flight. The announcer read the Mooney history of accomplishments that we have, as well as individual information about Ed, Dave and Mitch. Here is our write up for the Mooney Ambassadors at Columbia: http://www.tuolumnecountyaviation.us/tc_2013_summer_edition_023.htm
  16. ArtCraft has painted 40 Mooneys since 2009 when our Ovation was painted there. They hosted Jerry Manthey's seminar this weekend, and were offering a $10,000 paint job with one color and two trims colors. The price includes five hours of body work. United, Horizon, and Allegiant fly into KSMX [santa Maria, Central Coast of Ca.] Our Ovation won best of show at MAPA and my E model did too. Both painted by ArtCraft.
  17. This video makes me laugh, but it is SO true as well. Thanks Fernando! http://www.xtranormal.com/watch/13764958/new-mooney-owner
  18. Oh my bags are packed I'm ready to go...oh wait, only a 20 minute drive to Santa Maria The rooms are ready for the seminar. Jerry and Ethel are here with big smiles on their faces. The ArtCraft gang has made everything beautiful. It is going to be a great weekend. For those of you on the East coast, all you have to do is email Jerry to see if he can come your way. I know he needs a guarantee of a certain number to make the class a go. I am attending today's seminar for early models. Mitch will be attending the later models tomorrow. Thanks to all who have spread the word. We are thrilled that ArtCraft is hosting and donating a detail service, that Jerry and Ethel made the long drive down to Central Coast, and that we all get to meet some new/old Mooney friends.
  19. I love it! If I had more time I would print out and give to Jerry Manthey's attendees tomorrow!

  24. Hello there There are still a few spot in both Saturday and Sunday for Jerry Manthey's maintenance seminar in beautiful Santa Maria, CA. Come and learn from the best, meet other Mooney pilots, and support MAPA and Jerry Manthey. We are so very pleased that Jerry offered to do this seminar for us. If you want to come, call LELA at MAPA today 210-525-8008 I had a question from a potential attendee so I thought I would post the question and the answer from Jerry. The pilot asked what topics were covered and what topics were Mooney specific. I called Jerry and this is what he said: "We cover everything from the tip of the spinner to the tail light. All Mooney." Manual has 17 chapters. Seminar covers: corrosion, electrical, prop, fuel, mags, landing gear [major focus], preventative maintenance, documentation, regulations, flight surfaces, wheels, brakes, tires, ways to save money safely. At the end of class you all go to the demo airplane [or the participant who wants to] and go over all they have learned. He says he stays until all the questions are answered. There are a few more spots. Come on now, sign up. The Ambassadors are bringing strawberries for the morning!! Mitch and Jolie N6619U N211MJ
