Not related to Weep No More and I have never met Paul, but several Vintage Mooney Group members have travelled to Minnesota and every one of them have been totally satisified with the work done by Paul.

Third Class Medical Elimination Petition
mooneyflyer replied to mooneyflyer's topic in General Mooney Talk
I heartily recommend signing the petition and weighing in with the FAA. Most pilots I know will voluntarily stop flying if they believe their health is an issue. -
Here's some interesting info on a petition to eliminate THIRD CLASS Medicals. http://www.generalaviationnews.com/?p=31496&utm_source=The+Pulse+Subscribers&utm_campaign=e14836b459-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_medium=email Fly Fast, Fly Safe, Phil

We moved our Annual Gathering of Mooneys at Tahoe to Minden this year and it was a great decision. The Carson Valley is stunningly beautiful and we had severe VFR and the winds over the Sierra were well-behaved. On Friday night, we enjoyed dinner at the Steakhouse at the Carson Valley Inn in our own private dining area. Saturday morning, the Airport had put on an Airport Open House after we decided to move our fly-in there. Hutt Aviation opened the Red Carpet for us with phenomenal ramp service, refreshments, and fuel discounts. After our usual ramp time together we enjoyed a Mexican lunch (homemade tamales and all the fixins). After lunch and talks, we caravaned up to Virginia City for shopping, drinkin, and socializing in what once was the richest city in the west. That evening we went back to our hosts' home in the mountains and had our 3rd annual Weed Whacker Margarita party overlooking Carson Valley and the snow-capped mountains. Then onto dinner at JT's a phenomenal Basque restaurant in Mnden. We had 4 or 5 prospective Mooney owners who tried various Mooneys on for size and got way more info than I'm sure they needed, but it was a lotta fun. Thanks to hosts Mike and Mary Jacobs, Hutt Aviation who really treated us like gold (we'll be back), and to the Airport manager and the town for all they did for us humble (?) Mooney pilots and family.

Coast to Coast Stop-Over Suggestions
mooneyflyer replied to mooneyflyer's topic in General Mooney Talk
Amelia: Just fantastic. You got my wife excited with this stopover, so it's a win-win. Thanks a million. George: AirNav is great for finding low fuel, but we also looking for a cool stopover. Amelia's info is priceless. All: Still need a place near Kansas City, although a good friend has suggested St. Joseph (KSTJ), so we'll check it out. Phil -
We are planning a CA-NH flight this summer. We need recommendations for good stop-overnights near Kansas City and near Cleveland. These are just spaced out for fuel. Looking for the usual... good fuel... nearby hotels... maybe a courtesy car... maybe something fun to do/see. Thanks in advance. Phil & Linda

I want to die in my sleep lie my grandfather did, and not like the screaming passengers in the back of the plane.

Well, on the heels of last week’s VMG Northeast Chapter, we are excited to announce another VMG Chapter in South Central. We are pleased to announce the formation of the VMG South Central Chapter. The founders are Greg Ellis, Dave Morris, Harley Myler, and Parker Woodruff. Greg Ellis will be the Chief Mooniac of the VMG South Central Chapter which will encompass Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, and Louisana, and any other Mooneys that want to attend. This VMG Chapter is in the HOME of Mooney country with the likes of Mooney Airplane, MAPA, and Don Maxwell Aviation. And if that’s not good enough, it’s got some darn good flying destinations! Best of Luck to the founding team and to all their soon-to-be members. Just go to http://www.vintagemooneygroup.com and then click on VMG South Central to JOIN US. Fly safe, fly fast! Phil Corman

The Vintage Mooney Group (VMG) is pleased to announce the formation of it's first new chapter, the VMG Northeast Chapter. As you know, the VMG was formed in 2003 by Richard Todd and others to establish a Group of Mooneys that would fly to fun fly-ins around the southwest. Over time, that geography expanded to include the western USA. Well, Jeff Miller of Maine and Tom Myers of Massachusetts said enough is enough. We should have fun flyins in the northeast. And the formation happened at the speed of a Mooney. If you are interested in joining the VMG Northeast, simply go to http://www.vintagemooneygroup.com and click on VMG Northeast. It's FREE to join and it'll give you yet another reason to fly your Mooney to a cool destination in the Northeast or the West and make new friends, meet old friends, swap Mooney tales, Mooney maintenance, and Mooney Mods. Thanks to Jeff & Tom for founding this chapter! Phil Corman Chief Mooniac, VMG

This issue was posted in great length on the MAPA List about 9-12 months ago or so. After much posting debate, the group felt that a LIST was superior to a FORUM. I prefer a FORUM myself as it is easier to find and respond to THREADS that you are interested in. But most of the MAPA members felt that the LIST was more immediate and more responsive to queries so it has remained as is. I think the MAPA LIST and this FORUM have slightly different focuses (foci) and worthwhile to visit both regularly Phil

Harley, email me at philcorman@hotmail.com or call me at home at 805-227-0480 to discuss. I already have another guy interested in helping to start a Texas based VMG, but we really should have 3 to make it work, based on our experience in the Western USA. It looks like we will be starting a VMG NorthEast with Jeff Miller if he gets a decent response as well. Phil
