  1. How do we get on this list?
  2. Now that you went through all that effort, you're going to arrive at your plane to see it on your own jacks with your rims stolen They look great to me.
  3. That would be nice, it was a beautiful plane and well equipped. It's sort of sad as there really isn't that much damage, it's just the cost to repair is so dang high on an aircraft. Hopefully someone repairs it instead of chopping up.
  4. Gear collapsed after touch down on roll out on our 4th landing. Right main, then the nose. Slid down the runway for a bit then veered off and came to a stop in the grass. No injuries.
  5. Sold! That went fast. Bought these but did not have the opportunity to install them. They are about 2 months old and I'm not sure if I even opened the bags! I'm not sure which models they fit, but I'm guessing most/all. They were intended for my 68 m20F. I bought some of the yellow adhesive too, I can include that if needed. Make me an offer!
  6. This came with the Mooney I bought. It fires right up and seems to work great when testing. Blower works, igniter works, temp gauge works. The propane tank won't be included as I don't want to find out how to ship it! Seems like it would be easy to buy at Home Depot or the hardware store. I haven't actually used this to warm up the engine on my Mooney, didn't get the chance as the plane only lasted 3 hours Happy to take dimensions or weigh it, make a video, etc. Just ask! Make me an offer!
  7. Give the FSDO a call and ask, it's probably not so hard. Just my opinion, but I would guess its easier to explain the situation and get the ball rolling before the Annual expires. You might not need an A&P to sign anything.
  8. I'm not sure if there was a lot of background noise, or just strange audio layovers, but some of the sounds were comedically incorrect for the equipment. I liked the "spooling up" sounds that the CMM probe was making
  9. What a great buy! It will be like a new plane once you finish up the interior. I love that panel too.
  10. That's a lot of slop in a short period of time. I would suspect the hinge mounts more than wear in the hinge. Shouldn't be hard to tell where it is coming from in the component if its moving that much.
  11. I'm an automotive/machine shop guy and don't have airplane engine experience, so take this with many grains of salt. I wonder if you checked the cylinder bores for roundness?
  12. I hope you get it! I am just happy that the Mooney pictured exists in this world. It is a real beauty.
  13. Wow, that is both CLEAN and UNIQUE! Awesome!
  14. Garmin Aera 795. Databases current, can update before shipping out, I think I have another 11 months on the subscription. It has a little blemish on the front glass area outside of the screen, on the top left corner. Asking $400 I recently bought an m20F (woooohooooooooo!!!) and it came with some extra gear. I'll be using my existing iPad and Foreflight, so this is really just extra. I considered keeping it as it really does a good job, but I like the other features of the iPad like email and such. This is more purpose built, won't overheat, and I think the battery will last a lot longer than the iPad. It has a mount with 12v DC cigarette lighter adapter, a stereo output, USB output (not sure what that's for to be honest) and charging plug for a GDL39. When I got the plane, I bought an extra mount on eBay and wired up a 12vdc wall wart to charge it. It isn't original Garmin gear but its a good spare and charges the unit from home. The cradle is missing a little spring so it doesn't clasp the tablet via spring action, have to push it closed. So the second cradle is really better for parts or charging at home. The cradle with the GDL39 charger is fully functional. It looks like one sold recently on eBay for $516.
  15. I bought a beautiful 1968 M20F and plan to start transition training with a Mooneyspace instructor, hopefully starting this weekend
  16. It is now starting to sink in that I have a 68 m20F waiting for me... Perhaps the most challenging aspect of this was being able to mentally table the excitement and distractions of this beautiful Mooney waiting for me. Now I can really dig into the manual, get the V speeds baked in, etc. The Piper was a true workhorse and did a fine job, but its time has come. N3956M, I salute you, but it is now time for me to move on. May you continue to create pilots forever more, amen.
  17. Piper Warrior II
  18. Got my practical test done today. It's been about 3 months of rescheduling for weather, conflicts, and rental plane maintenance but we finally got it done! Passed the exam a few weeks ago on my first try, and passed practical flight portion today first try. I got home and my mind and body have completely given up on me. I am couched.
  19. I agree, this is all true. I seem to be a perpetual 2 weeks away from my PPL and have been putting off getting more familiar with the Mooney. It's a really hard thing to do. I just don't want to cloud my brain and risk mucking something up on my test. I seem to have the worst luck ever with DPE schedules, rental plane maintenance, and weather. This coming Wednesday is when I am rescheduled but its supposed to rain again
  20. You guys are such a great resource! Thank you everyone. I will bring this up with my A&P as we he knows the plane very well (I got really lucky, A&P has known the plane for 20+ years) so we can be certain of the part number. I'll post it up here on Mooneyspace first as I would rather sell it discounted to a forum member before going to eBay.
  21. Hi Alan, I received another offer via DM, if that falls through I'll contact you. Thank you sir.
  22. Thanks guys. I would post it on the Classifieds section here, but I don't have a part number, and am not sure what models/props it would fit on. Perhaps someone could help with that too? It has the tail number of the aircraft (my aircraft) on it, and my plane is a 1968 M20F. My prop is a Hartzel HC-C2YK-1BF. I'm not sure if the prop was changed before or after the spinner though. Perhaps my A&P knows, he's the one that installed it back in 2006.
  23. My beautiful new bird has a more pointy and fancy looking spinner on it, and came with this old one. Originally I thought it was just a spare, but on closer inspection I now notice a small fracture. Is this something that could be repaired and useful for someone, or is it a "throw away" part? Seems silly to toss the whole thing over that, but I am new to this world of airplanes
  24. I recently bought a Mooney M20F (holy crap, yes, I'm excited) and it has a Garmin transponder with ADS-B and BT, so this unit I think was the Previous Owner's prior solution. It came with the plane. Just tested it on my iPad through Garmin Pilot, it updated the firmware and is sending data. Seems to work great. I don't know much about it though, so I would be happy to do any testing before sending if you would like. Please make an offer if you're interested! It comes with what is pictured in the first image: original box, manual, battery base, charger, and the GDL 39 unit itself.
