  1. Do you mean for push to talk? I bought a yoke with it installed. Vacuum dump is a push pull. I have another I would sell if interested. Scott
  2. I moved vacuum dump to panel and installed mine in the hole for the vacuum. Like it there and also prefer the PC on/off on panel instead of holding down button.
  3. You guys never cease to amaze me on your knowledge of these airframes. What a great thread.
  4. disconcerting. Offset by my new knowledge that once I reach 2700 hours in short body Moonies, I am immune to hard landings. I have that to look forward to sweet.
  5. Servos are still available on Ebay. The controller is also available on Ebay. I just say a B5 listed for very reasonable money. It's just plastic tubing and rubber tubing you can get off of Amazon. I am very pleased with my Accu-Flite install. It was like 1500 parts and labor to get a heading bug auto pilot in my plane. I did thee B5 and plumbing myself. Pretty straight forward stuff. My servos look great at 60. Better than me for sure.
  6. I will go to 9500-10500 to Cliffy if tops force me up during summer months, but prefer 7500-8500.
  7. Love me some reboot of an old VINTAGE thread. Flexing by turbo normalized guys flying O2 never gets old on a vintage thread. 7500-8500 is sweet spot for my M20E and my body.
  8. Very sad. So instrument rated pilots. Instrumented rated. Pilots that were nstrument rated. Not VFR pilots. Instrument rated pilots. Got it.
  9. It's stiff, but not locked up. I will try hitting it with some tri-flow first before undertaking major surgery.
  10. Ahhhh. O.K. Thanks Hank. I will give that a try. Scott
  11. what is the process for this? Take out handle? Sorry, not familiar with process of "droppin' in the oil". Thanks for reply.
  12. My fuel selector is pretty stiff to move between left and right. What does this mean/remedy?
  13. I had this issue with install of the 830. I had purchased a JPI probe and it didn't work with OEM six pack. I replaced the jpi with OEM bayonet and works fine again.
  14. Installation went smoothly today. Both the starter and Voltage regulator working perfectly. Nice upgrades. Three hours labor for work. Job done.
  15. I am having a SkyTech starter and Zeftronics Voltage Regulator installed tomorrow by my A&P. Looking forward to the extra prop spin and weight savings. My regulator dates to 1965 (original to plane) so doing that as well as starter pre-emptively. Both were purchased here on Mooneyspace. Hopefully they both work and install is straight forward. Both were purchased used.
  16. You had me at "dummy proof". Ordered.
  17. Noted. Paint had imperfections. I wated to cut a bit. I will use a less aggressive pad and true polish going forward.
  18. Not trying to be disrespectful, but you're wrong. The orange pad is what was recommended and it worked very very well.
  19. I had never used a rotary (corded electric Harbor Freight 6" orange pad with MaGurire's Polish), but after watching a few videos on YouTube, took the plunge. I did the whole plane in 3 hours. The difference is amazing (effort required and results) compared to traditional waxing with paste polish. I did this dry. I would do about an 18" square section at a time. I would put five pea size dots of product directly on pad and tap area I was going to work. I would do five passes with the wheel only on poser setting 2. I have a debugging surface prep product that I would spray and wipe with a micro cloth to remove any remaining polish. I didn't want a LOT of cutting of paint, but the wheel and clother did have some blue from the buffing. The shine was great. I attached a couple of photos. VERY pleased that I tried the technique. I had ZERO issues with any "removal of paint from rivets or swirling". The waffle pads work excellent. I used same pad for entire plane. I only did top and side surfaces. NO BELLY . I will do this a couple times a year going forward.
  20. What? Braly DID discuss the leaks n Mooney's. He waxed on about how he used to fly a 1967 Mooney. Paraphrasing he said: -Mooneys and some Cessna aircraft had shoddy sealant installs that were completed 30, 40, 50 years ago. -Is it possible that when a tank is leking that my gas is more aggressive on sealant? Yes. -It is only Mooney's and some Cessnas so not a big deal because there are so many benefits to the fuel. TBO, Etc... -The percentage of planes having issues is small and 100ll use resulted in leaks as well - He specifically called out Weep No More and said there are three other aluminum integral tank sealant operationsin business. (insinuating that tanks leaked and needed repair with 100ll. It is a known problem so not our problem) My take-away. He knows his fuel is more aggressive on tank sealant, but hey no fuel is perfect so buck up, your plane is old. Deal with it.
  21. Agree, that was NOT acceptable and being upset is understandable. That you were hung up on is insult to injury although I don't know how you spoke to Don. My guess is a one day cool down was not undertaken?
  22. What a crappy thread ;)
