  1. Ok. I may have wired the the ARINC 429 per the interconnect diagram ….ill take a look again. Thanks for the info about your installer….Maybe there is some truth to the laptop…..Jesus, leave it to garmin!
  2. I meant the GPS not receiving the altitude…..
  3. Installed these two components and I’m having issues with the transponder not receiving the altitude….I pinned a rs232 feed for the altitude but it’s still not receiving. 1. Does anyone have the settings for the GNS and GTX in the setup mode. 2. Are they compatible? (Spoke with Garmin- They mentioned I needed to take it to a Garmin dealer and have them program with a laptop) Not sure I believe that! Thanks for looking….Matt
  4. Darn let me join the list.....Interested!
  5. So Michelin Airstop Tube....Thank You....Ditto to the rest....I'm aware of the bolts and the stem issue.....
  6. HI Everyone, I need a tube for the nose. Ive tried both the goodyear and the aeroclasic. The stems are way too long to fit the dust cover. Does anyone have a part number for the short 90 degree or 70 degree that will allow the dust cover to go on the wheel? this is turning into a real PITA....
  7. Drill the head off and if possible use an easy out..... just my thoughts!
  8. The tool above is great which I used to do the same PITA job you just described. Also as a jet mechanic, we use a good old pair of reverse safety wire pliers on the Adel clamp. Then put it in reverse to remove the wire. Use the awl to align it all up before hand! hope that helps....
  9. Thank You everyone for your comments..I will scour through the threads and advice and get her figured out…Might as well leave her in for awhile. Taking them out of the wings looks like a real pain in the XXX….I hope if that pneumatic gyro in my back radio bay operates as described above. Ill look for leaks and check the hoses on the pilot side and get back to you all…. Matt….
  10. Hello Community, I fired up the plane after a year of working on her (Pretty Proud fired right up!) and took her out for a run up. I noticed a hard left pull on the aileron. (I kind of remembered that too when I flew her home from Minnesota- previous owner. At the time, I could not figure it out. I did some research to find out that I have what is called a PC wing leveller.....Hehe... question is: 1. is it worth keeping 2. I hope i can get it to work 3. Parts 4. If not, how do i disconnect it so i can fly her correctly while I sort things out. (I don't want to hold the button all the time) I hope you all can help out! Thanks in advance Matt
  11. Id rather think about the positives in people. "The glass half full theory" rather than negatives......Generally speaking, people in this hobby are good people. Just think about all the good advise that we all have contributed on this website for the good of others at the expense of our time....Its all out of the good of people...Just my two cents...
  12. As many here have pointed out...To fabricate your own hoses is beyond the scope of what is preventative maintenance as outlined in FAR Part 43. You MUST hold an A&P or repair certificate to fabricate hoses. Don't let your insurance company void your policy when you need it most!
  13. A bit confused, so don’t use the paper gasket? Just copper seal and silk thread?
  14. Hi everyone. I looked at the pin out of my GTX335 for a pin out to the GNS430 (NON WAAS). Of course they don't provide it but they do have it for the GTN430W. Don you think that would suffice? it shows 5 wires. Really I only want the altitude msg to go away on the GNS430. I was hoping to use a single wire RS232 input. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. MK GTX335 GNS400W/500W RS232#2 RS232#1 OUT RS232# (GROUND) GROUND TIS-A-SELECT DISCRETE OUT ARINC 429 OUT A ARINC 429 IN 1A ARINC 429 OUT B ARINC 429 IN 1B
  15. Wow, fantastic job...Congratulations....
  16. I will give Paul a try.....Thx
  17. Hello, Anyone have spare inlet screens? I opened the tank the other day to work on sealing the tanks with some noticable staining and fuel loss near the fuel transmitter. I happen to notice that the previous tank seal job got sealant on the screen. Im luck to have notice this as this baby must of been working overtime. Does anyone have a solution to the problem? I tried to clean it...A real pain! IMG_0738.HEIC IMG_0737.HEIC IMG_0735.HEIC IMG_0736.HEIC
  18. Thank you. I’ll try the same.
  19. Ours is called Orange Crush…..
  20. Hello, I would like to do this same setup. When you say you powder coated and backfill, Im interested in how that was done?....Did you use a CO2 Laser or Blue Diode? Any way you could provide a little info?
  21. This is exactly what i want to do.....thank you for the pics.....
