  1. My 201 is getting a new interior. I didn't like the first take the shop did on my glareshield. I am looking for suggestions what to do to improve the looks. My glareshield was heat warped like most Mooneys of that vintage. The shop said they could warp it some synthetic leather but it might not do well in the heat. What have other Mooney done to correct the warp and improve the appearance? Thanks Curt
  2. I am having George who also work out of Hawk doing mine. Thanks
  3. Very nice scheme-who did the interior ? Thank you for your post!
  4. That very nice - I like the colors very nice contrast
  5. My bird goes in for a new interior in three weeks. I am looking for pictures of recently upholstered seats. My 84 201 still has the original leather seats and they are completely done. My bird is a very light blue with two darker color blue stripes. The interior leather is dark blue. We are going with lighter blue and gray leather. I am trying to decide if I want all over blue seats with light gray inserts or all over light gray with blue inserts. If you have pictures of your seats or have comments on the color choice I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks Curt

  11. I contacted SCS about a carpet kit for my 84 201, The kit they show on their website was developed from a 1979 201. This kit shows a cutout for the emergency gear extension device on the left hand side of the cockpit by the pilot's left leg. My bird has the emergency gear extension device between the pilot's and copilot's seats. SCS does offer a kit for the 231 that has the emergency gear extension device between the two seats. Has anyone used the 231 kit for a 201 like mine? Any suggestions? Thanks
  12. Hi My plane goes in for a new interior in November. The guy that is going to do the interior doesn't have a carpet surging machine. I think we will probably buy a carpet kit that the cutting and surging is all complete. How makes the best carpet kit for a 1984 201?
  13. I made a donation but unfortunately my Palpay account was corrupted and the payment was canceled. How can I make another payment with a different source of payment? Curt

  15. Any idea what the part number for the fuel drain?
  16. Thank you for the suggestion. I appreciate it.
  17. Thanks for the suggestion and your post.
  18. I was hoping someone might have these readings from the setup for their bird. If there was a difference because of different sending units or floats the difference in volume would be very small. If I can't find some existing readings I will have to use a method like yours. Thank you for your post.
  19. I had a JPI 930 installed in my 1984 201. The left and right fuel gauges show empty when the fuel total indicator shows 18 gallons left. I determined this carefully by the amount of fuel it took to top off the tanks. The shop that did the calibration apparently did not correctly complete the calibration. I am wondering if anyone on MooneySpace who installed a 930 could share their calibration data with me. The calibration starts by draining the fuel and then filling the tanks progressively and recording data on the JPI to develop a calibration curve. Any help would be appreciated.
  20. Well we figured out what was going on with my starter. It turns out that the rear 1/3 or so of the starter has a bolt that holds the back to the front of the starter. It turns out that that bolt was never tightened even though the bolt keeper tabs were completely belt like they should be. There was about an 1/8 gap between the two halves. How that got through their quality control is hard to understand. I replaced the starter contractor, battery's and had three different mechanic look for issues. I spent much more than the cost of a new starter. At least now I know. The new starter arrives Tuesday. Hopefully this will all get done before my planned plan to OSH on the 22nd. Live and learn. Thank you to everyone who sent posts- I appreciate your help.
