The confirmed solution to this problem on iPhone/iPad is as follows: Turn on "Airplane mode"; Wait for about 30 seconds; then Turn off "Airplane mode". (For geeks, this flushes the DNS cache as a byproduct.) Afterwards, you should be good to go.

Hello Mooneyspace, would anyone happen to have a high-resolution digital image of the Mooney logo shown in the attachment? Scalable vector graphic (SVG) format would be preferred. Thank you in advance.

I can also recommend Mac's Airplane Covers.

Recommendations for International Payments
SoccerCA replied to CCAS's topic in Avionics / Parts Classifieds
Fees are unavoidable in this situation, and PayPal's should be among the most favorable. Alternatively, the seller could list the item on eBay for the already agreed-upon price but then eBay will take a cut of its own. As long as buyer and seller trust each other I'd say use PayPal. -
It depends if you have the single piano wire or the dual control arm pushing the flap up (both versions can be found on p. 234 of the parts catalog). For the control arm version, 1/2" sounds about right.

Phil Jimenez at Avon Park (KAVO) has been the Florida Mooney guru for many years. I understand he is semi-retired and only works on certain (newer) models now. Yours being an M20R might work in your favor.

You could try uninstalling Garmin Pilot altogether, followed by a fresh install from the app store.

Unapproved radio calls poll, which are you?
SoccerCA replied to 201er's topic in General Mooney Talk
That works provided you are the only red and white Mooney in the pattern. IMHO announcing tail numbers is useful reconciling ADSB traffic on the screen. The FAA AC 90-66C recommends announcing aircraft type and tail numbers, with paint scheme being optional. -
I also had a positive experience with Rudy Aircraft Instruments. Quick, accurate work, and fast turnaround. Would definitely recommend.

Provided you take off on the 12th at 2359 you can keep flying indefinitely as long as you don't land.

I put my inherited (came with the plane) ones in the washer & dryer at lowest possible temperature without any apparent harm.

Call me old school but I'd say the client has every right to a full explanation & breakdown in costs for a $2,000 increase from the original quote, even if there is no other option...
-
I think Mike Busch refers to these situations as "maintenance-induced failures". Still, for a $2,000 - or 22% - increase from the original quote, I would have expected to be contacted for approval rather than just have it added on to the final invoice in a matter-of-fact kind of way...

Ask him to email you a formal invoice.

In short, it's complicated because the "Land of the Free" does not allow its citizens to travel freely to Cuba without an explicit permit and only for specified purposes (tourism not being one of them), a policy that dates all the way back to the Kennedy administration, if I remember correctly. Google "travel to Cuba" and you'll get the picture pretty quickly. If things ever open up I'll join you for lunch down there. Greetings from the Creek.

Generator or battery problem, or something else...?
SoccerCA replied to SoccerCA's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
Your analysis sounds perfectly reasonable. Any thoughts about Gill vs Concord nowadays. It appears that Concord used to be the hands-down winner on this forum for many years but I have been reading that Concord made some changes that led to problems in recent years while Gill quality is said to have improved at the same time... -

Sorry, no, it's all old-style instrumentation. -
Generator or battery problem, or something else...?
SoccerCA replied to SoccerCA's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
Tired battery was my first thought, except that I could not reproduce the problem with the the engine off and the same avionics/lights on... -
Generator or battery problem, or something else...?
SoccerCA replied to SoccerCA's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
1965 M20E, generator, old-school strobes. All avionics reset (comms, navs, S-TEC 30 autopilot). Gill G35 battery, new in 2013 (according to logs). I do have a voltmeter and my goal is to try some troubleshooting to determine the actual problem before upgrading perfectly functional parts. -
I am experiencing an issue that has me a little stumped. Hoping for some ideas from the collective expertise of this forum. With engine running above 1,100 rpm, all systems perfectly normal. At 1,000 rpm and below, the rhythm of the strobe can be heard on the headset. During idle check at runup the avionics briefly reset; they come back on as soon as the throttle is minimally reopened. This problem is intermittent and cannot be reproduced with any consistency, but has happened more than once. It started recently, about 1 week ago. In addition, performed a brief test running off battery power alone (engine off/all avionics and lights on) and could not reproduce the problem. I also have not noticed any weakness starting the engine. Thank you in advance for any troubleshooting tips and ideas.
