New to the game in Florida but would like to get together with folks interested in flying to lunch around the State. I work a 14/14 schedule so I couldn’t make them all but would like to meet more Mooney flyers.

I’m a CFII in Fernandina Beach. I can’t say I’m the most familiar with the GNS480 / CNX setup though. I am familiar with the 430-530-650-750s in the Mooney. -

I just bought my J through Jimmy. Only thing I've ever bought that I didn't actually touch it before I bought it. Yes, I did a prebuy and Jimmy got to fly it and report back any shakedown items he noticed and we were able to make the deal. Picked up the plane and flew it straight from San Antonio to NE Florida.

No idea if he is or not. If not, I assume since I called the guy out on Facebook and the thread has been either deleted or I've been blocked it's not legit. I'd rather someone support the brand through Mooney Speed Shop or approved licenses. social media is a relatively free market and Mooney not having made a Facebook post or Instagram since Jan 16th 2020 is kind of crazy. Everyone assumes marketing is expensive(too much mad men on HBO I guess) and they need to focus on other things but this is "low hanging fruit" that's being missed.

Picked up 02B from Jimmy’s place in Texas yesterday. Flew back to Fernandina non-stop, just about 5hrs with a couple changes for military airspace near Eglin. Had a nice tailwind spending a large part of the day at 11500 and near 200kts GS.

Hey @JayM have you checked the Mooneyflyer? There are CFI listed in there by State. In your case someone in Alabama might be closer. Im in fernandina beach but I don’t mind traveling. I’ll be flying over PNS Thursday. List your Mooney type and insurance reqs for the CFI. They have been pretty picky here lately.

That’s awesome that you owned this Mooney! It’s always helpful to know some history. I hope to take great care of 02B for sure. I was searching around on here to see if 02B had anyone listed as owner but didn’t see anything. The “current former” owner moved to a cabin class bird from what I understand. I was just fortunate to get the email from Jimmy and jump on it. I hope I can contact you for any questions that may come up down the road. Frank

I’ve been lurking for awhile before I joined a couple years ago. My last Mooney I had just over a year. I did the Mooney formation clinic with Bob and the great folks in Hickory NC in 19 but a brake issue kept me from OSH; had known 2020 would’ve turned out like this I may have changed some priorities and figured out a way!

@Culver LFA I miss that F for sure! I spent the entire Covid summer wishing I had never sold it especially when worked slowed down. Then Jimmy G sent an email with a really nice looking J and I knew i had to get back in fun. Recently moved to Amelia Island so we need a family transporter back to Atlanta to visit family and I hate driving. -
