My MEI introduced me to MyFlightBook. I exported my logbook pro to it... I added a bunch of aircraft to the pool... although we did have some discussions about aircraft identification. I gave up logging C-172N, C-172H, C-172SP I just use the ICAO ATC recognized identifier C172. So those aircraft that had been previously entered got reverted to the original settings..

My door popped open this morning in the 201 (single pin), I thought it was me, it wasn't after it opening 3x today even with my door latching experienced co-pilot (wife) I've decided something is a mis. Looks like the door doesn't go over center enough when in position. Open the door it goes solidly over center. So after tweaking everything it seems more pressure on the bottom link and it will be forceful enough to not vibrate look and spring open.

Is there any room for one more 201 @ the north 40? N86BF

The KX155 wo/GS, but can't beat the price.... I guess someday if it dies or I want a backup GS I might go with a Garmin GNC 255 and new indicator with GS... Just so it will be all Garmin. I use the 796 in my Gyroplane it is nice to just touch the screen and load the frequency to STBY.

PAR46 LED Landing Light Replacement
cleatus99 replied to MooneyBob's topic in Modern Mooney Discussion
Got mine apart last night.... Landing light was RTV glued into the broken/wore out retaining ring... $500+ if Mooney had any.... Harrump..... -
Thanks Don, & thanks PTK.... We did get 201 painted on the fuselage I like it, wife mostly picked it out....
-
You are right, been very busy

Very impressed, except had to land in the very dark, as the landing light worked when I left FL, apparently the filament was afraid of Texas. So I bought a Whelen PAR46 LED light..... So I wouldn't have to that again. Also now the suction seems to have given up the ghost.... So I pickup a new RAP215CC Tommorow. Ahh the joys of airplane ownership. Now if I can figure out how to swap the light....

PAR46 LED Landing Light Replacement
cleatus99 replied to MooneyBob's topic in Modern Mooney Discussion
Ok I'm currious, only 15minutes? It took me that long to figure out how to take top cowling off.... Then I can't see the light... I took lens and ring off cowling nothing to get at.... So I guess I'll try cowl flap Tommorow after reading this... -
Got it home Saturday awesome fast...

Almost to 30 hrs

Just like adding on any other category, less required, Gyroplanes are so easy to fly. It's easier if you do it as sport pilot...

Well, it's mid September and it'll be mid October before the Mooney is outta the paint booth. In the mean time I finished my Gyrocopter Trying to get 40 hrs flown off before the rides start, still tweaking and taking readings etc... http://fairri.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/IMG_2592.jpg http://fairri.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/IMG_2589.jpg

Looks like static water/clog unless you felt ups and downs

I like the 201 on the tail, me and the wife really like the mooney Texas paint scheme, red white blue, with the big star on the cowl, but my paint guy tells me it would limit the re-sale potential.... So as soon as I can figure out a paint scheme with a 201, checkered flag, red white and blue with a mooney bird painted on the bottom of the wings and fuselage.... The hard part will be over ..... I think we will end up settling on a ovation/acclaim style paint scheme.... Though I may have to try a wrap with the classic mooney thunderbird on the greasy side

At one time I had Cherokee N68V, I'd make my initial call with November68Victor, approach would still say Cherokee use full call-sign and say your request... Only thing is, I'd get bills from those weirdo airports in California trying to bill me landing fees, etc. Furthest west I'd ever flown was Lubbock... But if I hadn't already requested N86BF to be assigned, I'd take ya up on 17K
