Sold! I'm putting my Mooney up for sale. We've had a good run, but it's time to let someone else enjoy her as much as I have. It's hard for me to admit, but I'm getting up in years and have had some tough health challenges which are making it more difficult to continue pursuing my love for flying. I'm posting it here first in hopes that a Mooney enthusiast will be the proud new owner. I've been a member here for quite some time and have enjoyed being a part of the Mooney community. Our aircraft are very capable and are truly remarkable machines. I have the digital log books available to seriously interested prospective buyers. My contact number is listed on the attached spec. sheet. I will be monitoring my alerts here as well. If I fail to have much interest here after a few days, I will post it to the other normal sites. DM, I made a tow from a used Hoveround electric wheel chair 6 years ago. I found the chair on Craigslist and gave $160 for it. I built a hitch (tongue) for it and installed a 2 1/2" ball on the foot rest of the chair. I attach the hitch to the plane with a round metal rod that extends completely through the nose wheel attach point. I'll post a picture or two. Sorry for the poor quality. By the way, the chair has plenty of power to tow the Mooney with me sitting on the chair. I can tow the plane nearly as fast as a person can walk if necessary. There is a slight learning curve to operate it. I'll have to admit, I get some very funny looks from people who see me moving my plane with a wheel chair! I also used to have a Challenger II Experimental. In order for me to hangar it in the same "T" hangar with the Mooney, I built a lift for it using a walk-behind forklift. I got the forklift on eBay for $480. I built a fork extension for the plane to sit on. I raised the Challenger about 6' and the Mooney fit under it without any problems. I used it for 3 years or so until I sold it along with the Challenger.

I thought it was kinda funny what the controller said when were getting close to his Atlanta Brovo airspace on this VFR flight, "Cirrus were you planning to transition direct through Brovo? If so, that ain't gonna happen! Say intentions".

Brian, welcome to the forum. That's a nice looking Mooney! I and a friend made that flight in his Cirrus from Little Rock to Charleston Executive and back. Atlanta wouldn't let us transition through their airspace. They vectored us to the South side both times. That's probably best for your route of flight. If I was doing it in my M20E, I'd consider skirting Atlanta on the South side with one stop at KEET. With today's winds I'd use less than 40 gal when I got to KEET. That's the approximate midpoint to Morrilton. Airnav has some good comments for that airport and the SS fuel is $3.80/ gal. BTY, I'm hangared at KPGR. Just saw your reply about having 100 gal usable. You have the non-stop option, but I think you're looking at 6 + hrs. Hope this helps. Be safe!! -Tom

I finished my written earlier this year. I used the King course. I also bought the Dauntless app. as recommended by a pilot friend. It is very good imho. You can download alot of free material from the FAA web site as well. Good luck!

I'm a VFR pilot. I've passed the IFR test, twice. That being necessary due to having surgery on my neck and back and the long a recovery period. I have about 12 hrs of hood time toward IFR. We've had the Mooney since 2004. Many cross country flights from NE Arkansas including Wichita, Dallas, DesMoines, Oshkosh. I look forward to getting the IFR rating.

My indicator has gone bad. Wondering if someone has one they could part with at a reasonable price. If not, does anyone have an idea what it runs to get one overhauled and a recommended shop to use? I'm in NE Arkansas. Thanks!

You might find your answer in this thread. One member "Lood" checked his and said the installer apparently turned the shaft by 90 degrees by drilling horizontal holes. Hope this helps.
