  1. This is 25 hours worth of metal... Wow...this is the most metal I've ever seen from an engine still in service - I'm a long time diesel guy, we have similar issues and conversations. But that's a crazy amount of metal- there'd be no conversation after that - Randy
  2. Page 12 yet?? Put me down for 'as desired'. Oh....and LOP and 2 blade. LOL!! Randy
  3. Done- What would be a useful recurring amount? $5 month? $10 month? Randy
  4. Yes - point made. I'm in in big-ticket sales and it is hard, hard to find that price-point between getting enough and not. Especially in a market as fluid as this one- Randy
  5. I'm saving my pennies for a cash purchase at the end of the year- I had eliminated the '77's for a variety of reasons, but I would look at this one- good luck with the sale!! You're in the ballpark- ignore the armchair critics- seriously. Randy
  6. Doesn't seem like a bad idea to me. Having cared for a couple of diesels for several years, my routine was to change the oil, then pull samples at about 20 hours. Caterpillar's oil sample kits came with a handy-dandy little vacuum pump integrated with the lid of the sample jar, and a bunch of tubing to pull from the dipstick tube- easy and cheap. Randy
  7. Interesting conversation. When I did my complex upgrade in the late 70's (!), I was taught, take the grass beside the runway, kill the motor, bump the prop around to horizontal, fly as a soft field landing, as slowly as controllable- Randy
  8. x 3 Any place that ships engines, a big truck service dept for example, will have rolls of stout plastic wrap. I'd pallet, wrap, the enclose with plywood- good luck! Randy
