Mooney1401 Posted February 2, 2013 Report Posted February 2, 2013 I have a 77 M20J and want to replace the hoses firewall forward. I am looking for the part numbers of the hoses if anyone has them handy. I don't have a parts catalog and not near the plane for the next while. Thought I would try my luck here Jay Quote
jetdriven Posted February 2, 2013 Report Posted February 2, 2013 Like everything else in aviation, it depends. If you have an A3B6 conversion engine with a fuel flow transducer, you need the following hose set, just copy my invoice, and choose 124J hoses as I did, or 156F hoses as they originally came with. If you have an AB6D factory engine, the oil cooler hoses are different, you need those (details below), if you do not have a fuel flow transducer, you need a single fuel line from the engine driven fuel pump to the fuel injector servo, ~25" long. I used 124J Teflon integral sleeve hoses on my new engine. They have an integral silicone firesleeve jacket and are a smaller OD than the 156F hoses with clamp-on firesleeve jackets. To get those, you order the hoses in the lengths you want, but the part number is 124J001-8CR0204 for example. I got my set from PHT hose. They also have a list for the M20J with the A3B6D engine (factory) and I sent them my list for the A3B6D conversion, since nobody had one that worked. A3B6D oil cooler hose, upper (short) 124F001-8CR0204 20.4" (with 45 fitting) A3B6D oil cooler hose, lower (long) (124F008E0320C000) (These numbers are strange, but a hose shop can take them and build you a 124J or 156F hose with the data.) fuel hose, from engine driven fuel pump to fuel injector servo, no fuel flow transducer, you need a -6 hose ~25" in length, such as a 124J001-6CR0250. verify that with the hose shop, they should have your number for length. My hoses are Parker Stratoflex. Aeroquip makes equivalent hose to the 124J, but they do not have the -3 size for the fuel pressure gauge. Now it seems silly to run a 3000 PSI burst strength hose to a 25 PSI gauge, but I wanted all the hoses to match. Attached are my invoices and 124J cover sheet 1 Quote
Mooney1401 Posted February 2, 2013 Author Report Posted February 2, 2013 Jetdriven. Thank you very !!! much for the information. I have the A3B6D conversion Quote
jetdriven Posted February 2, 2013 Report Posted February 2, 2013 The A3B6D is the stock engine. The A3B6 is the conversion. Quote
OR75 Posted February 2, 2013 Report Posted February 2, 2013 i believe the MP hose is missing in Jetdriven list. it is an MS28741-3-0174 the last 4 digits is the length of the hose ( 0174 is 17 inches and 4/8) normally, hoses would have a ring with an engraving with the reference. the reference coding varies from manufacturer to manufacturer but are easy to decode for any hose maker you will call. you can choose rubber or teflon hoses. also steel brading or polyester anti chaffing the oil cooler have fire sleeve. make sure you torque them correctly. it is easy to do. N601RX Posted February 2, 2013 Report Posted February 2, 2013 You can also just order the bare Stratosflex hose from Spruce and put your old ends back on it if they are not corroded. It cost me about $100 to replace all my engine and airframe hoses doing it this way. Just make sure your A&P has the correct mandrels. This also gives you the option to optimize the length. Quote
