Steve65E-NC Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 We need a good Cleveland 40-24 wheel assembly (6.00x6 mains) with bearings. This is the one with screw retained double seal retainer plates on the outside and a screw retained cap on the inside. I have new tires on hand . I also plan to replace both brake discs Cleveland 164-9 or 164-109. So a servicable or new pair of these are also of interest (wear limit is .227inch min.). You can find me on the Members list, and send a private message that I will get by e-mail. Or, just post here and I will send you a private. Steve 65E-NC Quote
KSMooniac Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 Steve, do you know if these are common to the J? I can check later, but if so I might be able to help you out. Sent from my HTC Rezound using Tapatalk Quote
Steve65E-NC Posted January 27, 2013 Author Report Posted January 27, 2013 Scott, Probably not. Aircraft Spruce shows a different wheel for the J. But, then it shows that exact same one for the C. Don't know why a C and E would use different wheels. Maybe some change depending on serial number or year of aircraft. You probably have to look at it to be sure. I might be able to change over but then I would need two. Thanks, Steve Quote
KSMooniac Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Steve, the manual shows a 40-86 for the J. I don't know what the difference is. Sorry I can't help! Quote
N601RX Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 The wheel was changed in 67' The 40-86 was used after that. I think they use different brakes also. If Mooney officially superceeded the pn or issued a service bulletin allowing the change you may be able to use the 40-86. http://www.parker.com/literature/Aircraft%20Wheel%20&%20Brake%20Division/AWB%20Static%20Files%20for%20Literature/AWBPC0001.pdf Quote
