jamesm Posted May 1, 2024 Report Posted May 1, 2024 if that is 9v I am seeing on your schematic drawing.... If that's 3v drop that seems high to me, I am sure by now the you have clean all your contact and check the condition of wiring and made that they are all tight. maybe put ACF50 or like to prevent future corrosion. hope that helps, James '67C 1 Quote

Trying to get back out to the plane tonight and tomorrow to work on it. Quote
phxcobraz Posted May 21, 2024 Author Report Posted May 21, 2024 Update to the resolution here. Never found any issues in wiring. Pulled the mag and inspected. The retard breaker wasn’t working and pretty high resistance. I had been thinking about a Surefly so went for it, and we just installed it today. All I can say is WOW. It starts soooooo easy and runs very smooth. With the built in timing light we had it within 10rpm for mag drop compared to the right mag. Tapped manifold pressure off of cyl 4 and also had to install a new resistor for the EI CGR-30P off the p-lead. Still need to go fly it to see how the CHT/Oil temp is affected. Very happy so far. 3 Quote
