Depends on how hard the last guy mashed the screws in with the 24v driver. :)

Not the type of tool you’d find in my shop.

We aren't all fortunate enough to have your shop available, Clarence.

Shops are busy, mechanics are unfortunately very human.

Busy humans tend to make mistakes more often.

I am still learning, I watch my mechanic do the work when I can, if not he always takes pictures for me and I double check the work. Whatever I can as novice, at least if everything is attached and no extras in the engine bay.

I am doing more myself as I ascent in the plane ownership ranks. It’s personal interest coupled with safety.

I do just about everything myself except the annual. I'll get that liability in someone else's hands. Recently rewired all the avionics, from the buss bar up. I saw the shoddy work that was supposedly performed by an "avionics shop" before and didn't want a $20k bill for trash.

I do what I can do.  I suck at wrenching, though airplanes are way easier than bikes or cars.  I can't do the assist annual thing, can't blame the mechanics any.  Were I a mechanic I don't think I'd want pilots creeping around my shop.
